I had more time this weekend to watch the three Dark_Jedi v3 DVDs.  I'm still impressed by the quality, and enjoyed them very much.

The only other piece of constructive criticism I have revolves around gamma/black levels.  Actually, I think black levels are fine, but gamma is off.  This makes the picture appear too dark in the 10-40IRE range.

It will be interesting to compare these to the upcoming official Blu-rays.  Although those will have faults of their own, they should be mastered with the appropriate levels and gamma curves.

Dark_Jedi, if you have any comments about the reference you used for setting the gamma, I would be interested in learning more.  Just to make sure everything was set up properly on my end, I spent 3 hours on Saturday (re)calibrating my plasma for grayscale and a 2.2 gamma curve.  The darkness I noticed in the DVDs did not change.  I actually didn't need any gamma recalibration, I was just verifying measurements via Chroma5 meter and CalMAN software.

Well, Dark_Jedi is retiring from creating new DVDs.  You're going to have to ask someone else.  I reread your post.  Sorry....
