I actually kinda liked Young IJ. But I was also like 12 when it came out. I wasn't quite as discerning then as I am now. Who knows how I would feel. Haven't seen it since it was on TV.

Yeah, Young Indy wasn't too bad (not very Indiana Jones-like though), but after twenty years they can barely get a decent two hour movie right, I dread what they'll do pumping out a new 45mins worth week after week after week.

Star Wars turn into a series of fan film skits, don't we have too much of that already? (Not dissin' the fan films, they're fun stuff, just Lucasfilms lack of creativity)
The original Star Wars trilogy: Our cultural history deserves to be preserved and should be available to the public like all great works of art!

New Star Wars TV Series Rumors
Thu, May 20, 04 09:24:13 AM EDT

AICN has new rumors regarding the upcoming Star Wars TV series set for some time after Episode 3:

Playing one of the series' villans we love to hate is none other than... wait for it... Boba Fett! Expect young Boba (but not nearly as young as in Ep. 2) to feature in the series significantly. And you wondered why Lucas spent so much time focusing on that kid in Attack of the Clones and made sure that you knew that he knew that the Jedi/Republic was responsible for his Dad's death.
This rumor is unconfirmed, but it would be cool if it were true. It allows the series to follow a character throughout the universe seeing different aliens, planets, and characters from both the Rebellion and the Empire. Stay tuned as we dig around!

So, in other words, no Sith era series.

What? A Bobba Fett TV series? Jesus no... Will it feature a laugh track, and will it be recorded in front of a live audience? Will Mary Tyler Moore make a cameo on the first episode? I say: let's frozen GL, in the future there will be a cure for him.

Of course, this all depends on how much weight you give AICN rumours.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Except for the reviews, almost none.

I'm personally open to a Boba Fett series, but I doubt that they'll be able to execute it properly and sustain it for more than a few episodes. It just doesn't seem too feasible. If someone tried making it for television, it would be something really corny and melodramatic, like a WB series. That seems to be all TV executives are able to do these days (that and forensic shows).

Well, so far there has been only one Star Wars related TV production, and we all know what happened.

Hasn't there been 6 TV productions?

The Holiday Special (It bombed), The two Ewoks TV movies (they did very well just look at the ebay sale of the DVDr's and the price of the LD's), Droids: cartoon series (started big then veiwership fell hard), Ewoks: cartoon series (same as droids but it lasted longer) and The Clone Wars animated series (a HUGE hit - as they where better then the two prequel movies! )

So I think that Star Wars on TV CAN and WILL do very well. EVEN more so if it's based on Boba Fett.

Oh, yeah, right. I meant, there has been only one non-movie live action SW production for TV than envolved major SW characters.

I've got one and a half words for this thread: Supermarionation.

Of course, it's not gonna happen, but Gary Anderson's method of storytelling was quite effective with dozens of shows. Even though I'm a Digital Media major, I'd like to see a serious effort on the part of moviemakers to stop relying so heavily on digital effects, and go back to the "Well, this door was actually an 8 foot long block of styrofoam that Bill and I found. The burn marks were done by brushing on gasoline, then airbrushed to color," line of production.

For those who don't know, Supermarionation was the technique uesed in such wonderful TV series as Fireball XL-5, Supercar, Joe 90, and most popularly Thunderbirds (the 1960's TV show, not the 2004 movie based on it), as well as many others.

Hehehe... That could work... "The Star Wars Super Hour - in color"! With some bass-oriented wah-wah-filled late 60s/early 70s cheesy rock music in the background.

You're forgetting how heavy on brass those shows were. Full orchestra, like.

"5...4...3...2...1...Rogue Squadron is go!"

As soon as interdimensional travel becomes a reality, that's one of the first offworld imports I'm going to bring in. Right after the 1990 Beatles Reunion Album, and the 1962 version of Frank Herbert's _Dune_ movie, directed by Salvador Dali, and scored by Pink Floyd. And no, I'm not making that one up. It was officially in the works, but was dropped before production could begin because it was deemed "Too expensive."

Scored by Pink Floyd, in 1962? Pink Floyd is from 1966, 1967...

Well, strictly speaking, the group formed in 1965, but you're right, '62 is way off. It was a slip of the finger on the numeric keypad. I meant to type 1968. I'm really not sure on the exact year, though.

That would be really something, a 1968 Dune movie directed by Salvador Dali, with 1968 PF music, perhaps with Syd Barret AND David Gilmoure. That would be truly... bizarre.
