To be fair Doc, many of these 'so-called versions' are just rough cuts with the occasional bits and piece's missing, an were never meant to be seen publically. Most films go through this process of fine tuning, but they just don't have a rabid fanbase going through the garbage for trims and obsessing over every minor detail. I only have a problem with Lucas' major overhauls (or complete re-do's) and saying the original 'no-longer exists.' ... I will post that on my Star Wars Site IF I get it started!
