All in due time, the petition will reach a point where someone like Premiere or EW will write a blurb about it, and then being the high profile magazine that they are, they'll want a rebuttal quote from Lucas, even if he still seems like he's not going to budge it still helps us because it exposes thousands perhaps millions of people to the petition and will probably cause another surge of incoming signatures thus placing even more pressure on LFL to release the SWT.

This is awesome!!
I'm thinking of calling the local newspaper and asking them if they could do a small write up in the entertainment section.
This would at least get word out there!!

I suggest we wait until after the weekend. I'd like to watch the site for a few days and see if anything pops up. I'll know when I get home tonight and check my e-mail whether or not things are running smoothly (people are quick to complain when things are messed up ).

I also plan on sending out a reminder e-mail this weekend to those who haven't confirmed their signatures yet. Since this will involve over 5000 messages being sent out at the same time, it'll be a good test of the mail server's stability. So far, I've been receiving e-mails almost immediately after they're sent, so I'm confident things will go well.

As a matter of fact, overall performance of the site seems to be noticeably better for me than the old server, especially on pages that require database interaction (like the forum). The limiting factor on the previous server was definitely the speed of the SQL server, so I'm guessing this hosting service is running SQL on a beefier machine. Support has also been top-notch. I e-mailed a tech question the other day and got a response in about 10 minutes. These guys are much more on the ball than my old service. Bodes well for the future.

I for one notice that when accessing the forum as well as posting a message is done in less than half the time it used to take!

WE HAVE A GLOBAL SIRE HERE, GUYS. MANY OF US ARE IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. WE CAN ALL PUST THIS PETITION TO THE SPOT LIGHT WHERE WE LIVE. JUST CONTACT ONE NEWSPAER OR LOCAL TELEVISION STATION. KEEP TRYING UNTIL SOMEBOADY IN THE MEDIA RESPONDS TO YOU. I FOR ONE WILL BE CONTACTING THE DALLAS OBSERVER. IT'S A LOCAL NEWSPAPER GEARED TOWARD COLLEGE AGED INDIVIDUALS, BUT IT HAS A HUGE READERSHIP. IT'S ALSO A FREE PUBLICATION, AND IT'S EVERYWHERE. IF A STORY IS BIG ENOUGH IN THE DALLAS OBSERVER THE LOCAL TV NEWS GROUPS WILL JUMP ON BOARD WITH THEIR OWN STORIES. HEY, IT'S WORTH A TRY, RIGHT? WAIT, DO OR DO NOT. THERE IS NO TRY, SO DO IT.
