Okay, I didn't mean a literal multiverse. I just meant sometimes I consider some stories together and ignore the rest, sometimes I lump different stories. It's not like I have to accept everything at every moment as real Star Wars. It's just a way of enjoying what was written. Take Splinter of the Mind's Eye. It was written before Star Wars even hit theatres. It looks at the characters from a different perspective than how they end up being. Instead of reading that and trying to make it mesh with everything else I know about Star Wars, I pretend it is the only sequel to ANH where Luke and Leia are not sibs, Vader ain't yo' daddy, etc., etc., etc. I find I enjoy it much better from that "certain point of view."
But I see what you're getting at with the Spider-man thing.
