Sorry, I was just joking back. ;)  My comment was mostly directed to the kindergarteners who work at LFL.

If George changed his mind and released the Originals with a proper HD master (hypothetically speaking, of course), I'll bet you $3,000 the newer fans won't go "AARGH!!!  I HATE LUCAS FOR MAKING THE UNALTERED MOVIES AVAILABLE!!!"  At worst, they'll just say "Okay, there's your HD Unaltered Trilogy.  Now will you please SHUT UP?"

I hear you - kindergartenders indeed :D

But my fear/worry/?? is that if GL had released the _REAL_ _PURE_ OT on BluRay, the younger generations would have said "What is the big deal?" and "OK, gotcha, this is my father's ice-cream truck" or "You mean Zac Efron isn't in it?" or ...

I don't know whether to weep in despair or disgust.. We need to find ways to show that this (the fantastic work that people like DJ have put in to preserving the OT) _IS_ better than the brain-washing-mind-altering-history-morphing crap that is the current incarnation of the Trilogy.. How?

Obviously, what we want is compromise: the unaltered versions alongside the Special Edition.  George doesn't want to do that, and Lucas worshipers are bashing us because our will is contrary to that of the almighty Lucas.  If Lucas decides to show the unaltered trilogy the respect that even the worst/least known of today's movies get, Lucas worshipers won't have a problem with it because it'd be Lucas' decision.  I know I'm the only one bringing this up, but it's my perspective on the situation.

But you do have a point about the younger generation.  Most don't give a carp about ANY sort of history.  Even if the unaltered trilogy were to be made available, they probably wouldn't care.

But then again...  Look at me!  I'm a part of the younger generation, and the whole reason I prefer the Unaltered version is because of the corrected lightsaber inconsistancies.  If there were more kids like me and Aluminum Falcon, then the Theatrical version would definitely grow in popularity.
