While the hypershot looks amazing and is really cool - I agree with the sentiments expressed against it's inclusion in the film itself.
When Star Wars debuted in '77 - the hyperspace jump after blasting from Mos Eisley caused the entire theater to bust into spontaneous applause due to how cool that was. At 16 - I was already blown away from the opening shot, and the jump to lightspeed put me over into euphoria with the rest of the sold-out audience.
When Empire came out - everyone was looking forward to seeing that effect again - and Kersh was wise to take a triumphant moment from the first film and put it as a climax at the end of a middle-act that followed a major downer of the storyline.
I think putting the jump to lightspeed from a cockpit view in the middle of ESB, takes away from that triumphant moment to conclude our favorite episode of the saga.
It looks awesome - but as some suggested - perhaps as a menu item on the DVD.
