I don't know why the 80s crawl bothers so many people. I know it's about preservation, but every time I see it without the "New Hope", it always looks so naked to me (and both crawls are proper theatrical crawls, anyway). Different strokes, I suppose.

Yep, different strokes. The only thing that I don't like about Arnie.d's V8 is that it has "Episode IV" in the crawl, and I want it to say simply "Star Wars, so I really like this idea.

I have an idea, one for the masters of DVD mastering. Y'know how for the official DVDs, when you start watching the movie in a different language, the opening crawl is in the corresponding language? I was thinking something similar could be done for the '77 and '81 crawls. (Like maybe use the '77 Crawl for the '77 Six-Track/Stereo/Mono mixes, and the '81 Crawl for the '85/'93 Stereo mixes) Speaking of which, what audio mixes are you planning to use?
