STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION — Page 372

OK well I think I have figured it out. I had downloaded the PAL DVD-9, and I guess my Blu Ray player doesn't support PAL DVD's, just NTSC DVD's. Which is weird, considering that every other DVD player in my North American home will play the PAL version of ANH:R. Well anyways I am downloading the NTSC version now, hopefully this works.

If it does, thank you for making a NTSC version, Ady!

I thought HD had put an end to that NTSC/PAL nonsense, or am I wrong?

I believe that is the case for most Blu Ray players, but apparently my Marantz BD5004 isn't "region free."

Yes, but ANHR isn't HD (yet).

Yes I know...(tee hee) but I thought with the death of regional standards on blu-ray had killed off the region setting con, with what mfastx is saying this is clearly not the case :-(

If you knew half the things I know about Revisited, you'd probably short circuit. ;-)

Here's something that popped into my head while watching the film again. What do you think about having the propulsion lights on the Millennium Falcon off while it's being pulled into the Death Star's hanger? I just can't get that one line that Han said out of my head.

  • Han: We're caught in a tractor beam and it's pulling us in.
  • Luke: There's gotta be something you can do!
  • Han: There's nothing I can do about kid, I'm at full power. I'm going to have to shut down.

It would make sense from everyone involved in it's capture, especially from the view point of the technicians and troopers looking at the ship entering the hanger with it's propulsion lights off. It'd be quite silly if someone looking at the ship entering the hanger noticed that it's engines were on during the capture and yet shut down the moment it stops when later they conclude that the ship was abandoned earlier.

Yeah, I mentioned this a few weeks ago on the other ANH thread here I intend to fix this (If I ever get round to doing my own edit)

Sounds like a good idea. It would be fixed continuity-wise, I suppose and it won't take away from the story.

Michael Giacchino (composer of LOST) gave us some publicity!

You mean composer of the ps1 game Medal of Honor, composer of star trek 2009, and john carter of mars, lol.

I just finished viewing Adywan's Star Wars ANH - Revisited, and I just cannot express how happy I am to have seen this.  When details of the upcoming Blu-Ray set were released I really did think all hope was lost.  Finding this forum and its members definitely gave me renewed hope that I could still enjoy the movies I fell in love with as a child.

I'd like to thank Adywan and everyone else involved. This version of the film was beyond amazing. It almost felt like I was watching Star Wars for the first time again.  Keep the dream alive gentlemen.  Adywan, I will definitely be making sure to make a donation as a thank you.  I look forward to your future projects.  Once again, thank you.

Thank you, I definitely will.  I am just overwhelmed by the content available at the moment.  So many different versions to see.  Looking forward to it.

Ok, I really didn't want to have to ask any questions regarding downloading or burning ANH-R.  Especially since this thread is three years old, all of the information I need should be found somewhere in here.  I managed to download the DVD-9 version of ANH-R and I even watched it on my PC using DAEMON Tools.  Now I am just trying to make sure I have the fixed Video TS files in the ISO.

I found the post where Adywan lays out instructions on how to fix this.  I downloaded PCGEdit and followed Adywan's instructions.  The one thing I didn't do was move the mounted ISO image into the newly created folder.  I didn't do this because I just didn't know how.  I use DAEMON Tools to Mount the downloaded ANH-R ISO file, but all it does is start the DVD using either VLC or Mediaplayer.  Mounting the ISO didn't create a new file for me to move, so all I did was move the original into the file he had me create.  From there I followed the rest of his instructions.  When PCGEdit creates the New ISO I expected to find a new ISO file.  Only there was nothing.

I know I am doing something wrong, it is going to be something stupid and I am going tell myself I should have had a V8.  I am just not familiar with any of these programs.  I am usually pretty good at following instructions but I am stumped atm.  If anyone is willing to take a moment to help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

How can 1 guy get it so right in 1 go on what all the special editions should have been, yet a whole team of VFX artists and its creator get it wrong everytime on what the fans want when they revisit the films. Futhermore try to get the loyal fans to pay for the rehashed rubbish just for greed.

MASSIVE RESPECT ADYWAN!!,

My only qualm is the battle of heroes music during obiwans fight with Vader, it should not be there, can you please remove it?, or it should be very stubble at least. It took away the emotional impact of Obi-wans sacrifice.

Other than that, perfect!!!!

This is the only version of a new hope I will watch now and share with everyone.

can't wait to get ESB and ROTJ revisted. keep up the great work my friend.

I'm not even sure you need the fix anymore...

Really?  I put the ISO file in PCGEdit and I found that the "27" is not checked off while all of the others are.  I check it like Adywan instructed.
