It would be a bizarre move.
He might as well print, "Fans of the Theatrical versions need not buy this set!" on the side of the box.

'Star Wars' Getting "Improvements" For Blu-Ray Release
Just about every review I've seen of the blurays mentions the lack of the theatrical versions.
Is this really such a niche perspective?
Is this something LucasFilm is playing to, in order to create demand for the theatricals later?
You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

And my axe!
Wrong trilogy.

I believe that it is a possibility. It maybe isn't what he intended when he started down his current path in '97. I don't really care what smoke and mirrors game he's playing as long as he releases them. I really would rather some of these collector's that own prints would just collaborate and release an awesome HD version online and call it the FUG Edition. At least the quality control would probably be better.
Luke threw twice…maybe.
It looks like these things may have leaked.

If these are indeed real then where the hell is this so called colour correction that the OT has supposed to have got?

Is the website down?
No, it's just a bit slow. It looks as if the usual race to release the first MKV has begun.

Whatever the reason, it's a good thing, right? Awareness is good.

Ken already told us the good news that they'll be changed, so you needn't worry.
"Close the blast doors!"

It seems that they are fake. There have been comments that there is no digital yoda in the Ep1 rip. Sounds like the same bootleg blu-Rays that have been on sale for a couple of years at places like Memorabilia here in the UK
Yeah, I saw with my own eyes a very different-looking transfer (well, in terms of overall brightness and contrast), so I didn't think these were legitimate.
Don't worry, folks, we've only 18 days to go... :-)

Fake / not fake, they've got Mandarin audio, that's at least a neeto in my book.
Yeah, I expected that sooner or later someone will take the 04SE HD broadcasts and pretend they're leaked Blu Rays.
If these aren't fake then i think that Kenkraly will likely explode because the colars haven't been fixed, or even played with. ;)

alright I'm sorry if I ever said that the colors will be fixed. Even I don't know if they will be. Sorry I ever said anything about them being fixed.

I have done that already.
But that would take like four years. Maybe you meant you plan on doing it?
It took me a long time for me to realizes that where problems with the 2004 dvd releases and I now I understand about all the issues with that set now but before I did'nt.
So since we are in or close to leak season, what are specific shots or things which people can use to verify if some release is an actual blu-ray rip. And Part Two: What things should someone check for once it's verified as being a blu-ray rip.

Maybe we should ask ken to write up the definitely list of SW DVD 'Creative Decision' issues.

^WRONG FILM!
I could always go to Wikipedia if I wanted to read about the issues with the 2004 dvd's on the star wars changes page.
But where would we go?
