Good work! What about the lights? Will you add them to the final cut?

if its impossible to track them all think of using camera projection or plains with light dots.

Or track each part of the ship separately. Camera tracker from the Foundry can help i assume :)

I haven't worked on this shot for quite a few months now, but as soon as i get back to working on the video side of things again i am hoping to add the lights, but the tracking is a bit of a nightmare thanks to the screen wipe, as this can really throw things out. But if i can't add the lights in the final version then i'm not too bothered. Plus the shuttle isn't finished yet.

Great news. I always thought that the shuttle was out of place *nipiticking again?*.Maybe too smooth/fluid and very CG like. comparing to the nice lighted ties and MF.

I would have done a mockup, but I wouldn't know how to create sparks, if they would be visible. But if no sparks would be visible, at least the flash of light from the sparks should be, right?

I usually hate obvious and flashy CGI, but that looks horny!

If this can be put out in motion I might be satisfied a lot.

That shot looks good as is. Only add the lights if it wouldn't be too much hassle.

Also, I too believe the usage of the word 'revisited' in the Blu-ray article was a deliberate reference.

The attention to detail is the something else with you Mr J.!

You tend to give subtle and doable solutions that inspire everyone!

Great execution and i hope for the final cut of this edit.

I think I'll try adding a similar effect if I make a 3rd attempt at the mockup! Fun stuff.

One problem I'm noticing is the immediate cut to the more open shot (showing Luke rolling down the stairs) should show a brief fade/resolution of the sparks created from Vader's saber hit. 

Even so, I'm not sure if Vader's saber is actually hitting the floor.  Even though he is swinging it down, the saber isn't longer than Vader is tall... so short of Vader starting to crouch or hunch in the final part of his swing, the saber would not hit the floor.

In regards to the SD shot above, I can go either way with running lights.. I think the main thing would be possibly emulating your "lighted hangar" shot and make the hanger bay a bit more lighted up per your mock-up, Angel.

I agree. Slight more light can sell the idea better.

One question tho. Why the shuttle comes from the tiny hangar in ROTJ and here we have leaving from the main one?

Either way i cant wait for the new (distant) star destroyer element that ady said will replace :)

Im wondering what shots do you want to expand or reshoot? Since such model cant be wasted just to replace the already ones ;)
