I really hope that this isn't an indication of the new sound mix. Talk about a noticeable jump in audio sources for the dialogue. Just check out the the line straight after:

Luke "we've got to do something"
Han "what are you talking about

then just hear how different the next line sounds .I don't remember it being this noticeable before

Plus, if these are supposed to be taken from the blu-ray then what colour timing changes have they done, because they are identical to the 2004 versions?

The Humdinger has gone big time (via The Digital Bits):

I'm told that little visual issues like these throughout the films have been addressed - a fairly extensive list. [Editor's Note: The so-called "Humdinger" glitch in Episode IV was also apparently fixed.]

Whoah! Spoiler tags?!?!?!

You're thinking of the DSIII.  The spoiler is "THE END."

EDIT: Can I take a moment to say again how much I hate the text editor(s) here?

At any rate, where are all these vids coming from?

I don't know if you mean me with text editor but english isn't my first language and I think getting these videos among the community is more important than finding the perfect text to describe the shown scene.

The videos all do originate from moments.starwars.com: all I did was find out the real source of each flash movie and posted it:

Video example:

I can't find anything there that says these are from the Blu set.

Well, at least I can definitely confirm the German version of the site has the new audio mixes made for the Blu-rays with those clips. Ever since the OT's THX-makeover, the German audio tracks were screwed up by some wrong filter settings... now with the mixes being re-done, the German voices sound stunningly crisp. So the audio is definitely Blu-ray sourced - why wouldn't the picture be too?

I'm not saying they aren't - I'm just suspicious by nature.

Well regarding HTML (the script language of websites) there is a CSS class called "screencap" on the shown image, which indicates that these indeed should represent direct screencaps.

If you are interested in one of the stills you can always replace the original 600px in the path with 1000px:

original path:
http://d2np6futyd7kp6.cloudfront.net/images/600px/ep4/417_Obi_Vader_Lightsabers_HR.jpg

more resolution path:
http://d2np6futyd7kp6.cloudfront.net/images/1000px/ep4/417_Obi_Vader_Lightsabers_HR.jpg

i am almost sure the full-hd pics are on the servers as well, but i can't figure out the keyword. you can use '256px', 'thumb', 'blur'.

CG Yoda in the Ep1 clip is not conclusive that these scenes are taken from the Bd's.

I know the BD's will be of excellent quality, I just know it.

The zoom button only displays the 600px image. The 1000px image has way more resolution! Try for yourself!

Damn... I thought I'm always right!

My worldview crumbles :(

To be fair though, it seems to be a bug on the site...

Seriously, though, I'm sure the PT BDs will be of excellent quality.

Not necessarily. Remember how AOTC and ROTJ were only shot at 1080p. I'm not sure how well the CGI in them would hold up too.

^^Yeah, I meant compared to the OT, which will be severely neglected no matter how much they do to "fix" them. The PT will always get 1000% more attention.

So, when AOTC and ROTS were filmed digitally in lesser quality than was available even then, did other productions make that mistake and limit themselves?

I dont see how they could look bad played at the exact resolution they were created in.

So, some of this stuff looks different some of it looks the same, could be the blus but maybe not? I can't follow this converstion.

The fourth website at the recent event:

http://www.bigpicturebigsound.com/Hands-On-at-Lucasfilm-with-the-Star-Wars-Complete-Saga-Blu-ray.shtml

via: boards.theforce.net

Dennis Muren sez:

"Garbage mattes, definitely. That really messed up the original VHSes of Star Wars. And everybody thought that it was that way when it came out in theaters, and of course it wasn't, just the transfer wasn't done quite right. So I'm all for getting it the way you saw it in the theater. As long as the original version is always available, then beyond that, you can do whatever you want."

An article from the DVD & Blu-Ray Review magazine, Issue september 2011, confirms that Matthew Wood has put his voice in the audio tracks of all 6 movies:
http://www.mediafire.com/?jqi7gcgvzqvcbd9

[page 35 of the magazine, page 6 of the pdf]

The magazine scan is from projektstarwars.de, posted by Spaceball:
http://www.projektstarwars.de/forum/rund-um-star-wars/50693-star-wars-blu-ray-disc-40.html#post1399176

Interesting to read if you ask me...

Thanks for going to all the trouble of posting the video clips/links.

Here's the quote referred to above:

You also star in the movies, of course

... General Grievous blah blah etc...

What's funny is some of the stuff we have done for IV, V and VI, George has added little things and my voice has been in there. So myself and David Acord, who is also a voice actor, have our voices are [sic] in all six Star Wars films now. David, myself and Anthony Daniels are the only three people who are in all six Star Wars films!

That's Matthew Wood speaking there.

I'm struggling to prevent myself from saying unkind things about this person, so I'll leave it at that.

For some sick reason I'm more and more compelled to eventually see/her (through this sites and others screencaps) all the new changes that now make up the 2011 edition. At this point they've been changed that many times I no longer care, but curiosity has me wanting to know what the changes are/what was in "need" of change.
