It'd be nice if the upcoming blu-rays contained these deleted shots in hi-def so that Harmy and others could use them, but I'm not  holding my breath.

Why would they?  I mean, we already know it's the SE + whatever.

Thank you for this one, Hamry. I had no chance to watch it completely yet, but so far I really enjoyed it.

Thank you also for the german audio track. Absolutely awesome!!!

Just skimming through, all I can say is Thank you again, Harmy! You;ve done an incredible job. Can't wait to watch this all the way through!

Any chance someone can upload this to the newsgroups or a torrent site sometime soon?

Thank you Harmy for this great Fanedit!

I just got though it - it's awesome! Especially the eyebrows of Vader... Never thought, I would see them again;)

And thank you so much for integrating the German audio, too!

I hope the special-edition-blu-rays go straight to hell...

I watched this and of course, as with the other despecialized versions, it's very nice... I do like the color scheme you picked for it, which seems slightly warmer than the GOUT but much better than the cold 2004 transfer. All the lightsabers looked fine and spot on colors. I must say this supersedes your early ROTJ Reconstruction by miles... especially since it's in HD.

I'm very happy to now by a happy owner of the Despecialized Trilogy. I bought some Blu-Ray cases and printed out all your covers:

The blu-ray case makes them even better.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Do they sell the blu-ray cases in stores?

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Yep! You can get them at Best Buy... a 10-pack for about 12.99.

Yeah but those aren't the authentic ones.  If you can wait a bit you can get them shipped from sleevetown.com and there a couple bucks cheaper even after shipping and handling.

Never knew that... I just saw them in Best Buy and bought them since I wanted a nice case for this. What do you mean by "aren't authentic"? They have the Blu-Ray disc logo on top...

Here's a quote from Amazon:

"..........  the industry standard Viva Elite (Warner, 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate) or Vortex (Sony, Disney) cases that are the norm. "

Best Buy sells the Dynex brand which isn't sold on any of the specialty sites I've seen.  It's probably one of the knockoffs they talk about.

Sleevetown.com sells the Vortex type mentioned above.  Discmakers.com sells Viva Elite and the people on the Blu-ray.com site swear by the diskmakers.com site.  Sleevetown.com is a very popular site too from what I've gathered.

Edit:  On the other hand I've never seen the Dynex kind so I can't really compare them to the "real thing".  The reviews are pretty favorable on Bestbuy.com .........

Dynex cases seem exactly alike to normal Blu-Ray cases, same high quality plastic material; however, I got one that holds 2 discs so I can add in a disc full of trailers along with my Despecialized discs. Also, the Blu-Ray logo doesn't peel off and the clasps work well.

You hit it out of the park once again Harmy, it looks amazing. It's great to have the entire Trilogy in HD! By the way what paper do you guys use to print out those covers, can I use the standard size, or do I need to hunt down some 8 1/2 x 14 photo paper?

I was a little skeptical at first, but I downloaded ANH and ESB and was completely gobsmacked. Truly incredible work Harmy.

Now I'm fired up to get some Bluray cases and photo paper. Can anyone point me in the direction of a download for the hires version of the covers?

When I print this out I just use standard paper and have the printer print it in a way so that it is centered to fit. It normally comes out the right dimensions.

I guess you can buy photo paper the same size of regular paper if you wanted to get fancy. ;-)

Unfortunately that link doesn't seem to be working anymore. Does anyone know of an alternative?

You can download the cover here. I hope you don't mind my re-upload Harmy. I'll take it down if you want.

Been skipping around this while I can, I hadn't seen the workprint or anything. Anyway, this work is incredible. Even KNOWING 100% what was despecialized, I couldn't really tell if I didn't overthink about it. ;-)

Show it to anyone who has never seen RotJ and they will NOT be able to tell that it isn't the original. Save for the frame rate problem wiping from Jabba's Palace to the Dune Sea, its perfect so far!

I totally agree. I haven't watched it all but what I've seen is great.

I was a bit worried about the 'extra smoke' to hide the wipe seeing it on a big screen as opposed watching it on youtube on a small screen and by the time I noticed it was that sequence the fix had already come and gone and I hadn't even noticed it, so no complaints there.

As noted the eyebrows stood out but that was when I staring directly at them, when I just watched the scene for was it was completely fine.

The thing that really impressed me was the beak removal. For most shots staring directly at the sarlaac I could never tell there was a beak there. Bravo.

As for the frame rate problem noted above I know Harmy has explained this but can anyone remind me what that was. Something to do with the SE shot being shorter than the OT?

I've made a DL burn of this (and your others).  Love them!!!

Quick question... when I play the disk in my Sony blu ray player, the picture is awesome.  But I don't get the various sound tracks.  My player seems to think there is only one, a 2.1 english track.  Do some players have trouble accessing the sound options after burning these sorts of files, or do I need to burn it differently?
