A .dlc file is not necessary, but you might choose to make one. You can certainly use winrar. I tend to use 7zip. If you upload to Multiupload, you can make 400mb files, so there are fewer to upload.

I should know how to do this, but I've never really archived anything before and only have my laptop to work with now. I need to upload some DL sized files I had previously made to somewhere like megaupload, which would mean I need to split into 100mb files. Can something like this be done in WinRar? And is a dlc file necessary?
