Hello Darth Stewie. As was said before by Bingowings and even Adywan himself, very eloquently I must say, the lack of responses was not because we did not care for the edit, but because we thought that the direction you were headed in was fine and that complimenting you was unnecessary. There are many users here who just look at threads and don't even post a single comment, so a better way to judge whether your edit is getting attention is by sheer number of views. I, for one, was part of those who did comment on it, and I even remarked that I would be interested at the final outcome. As the thread went on, I didn’t comment as much, solely because I no longer had anything to say, and I can assume others did the same. We often take it for granted that fan editors feel enough support and motivation that there need not be too many comments. All your videos looked wonderful and an interesting new take on Star Wars.
In my honest opinion, perhaps an error on your part was deleting your posts. I vaguely remember your “empty room” post and I am sorry, but your generous intentions were completely lost in the post. It’s good that now you’ve actually clarified what you meant, but other members reacted to how it superficially sounded, which did seem a bit rude. Quite a few members here were genuinely interested in your workings but by your decision to move, most were genuinely confused, especially with no posts left. Once deleted, many people had no idea what happened and assumed you had just left abruptly. Naturally people did get a little antsy from being suddenly deprived of an edit which did indeed look very promising. Maybe because of an uncannily similar, noticeable incident, involving a rather distasteful individual, named Antimatter, who wanted nothing more than the spot light even though he was getting a lot, people automatically assumed you attitude was similar. This may have been unjust on our part but you left no evidence to the contrary.
You must understand that when you abruptly left originaltrilogy and moved to Facebook; it seemed you did this to get your own private place, which is what the other guy did. Also, people who don’t like leaving this site did not care to follow you; this actually gave you less of the motivation which you seek.As I pointed out, your only conversation on your Facebook edit page seemed to be with a relative; it seemed you just were looking for a private arena. We didn’t even consider the fact that you may enjoy the privacy.
In any case, with your newfound clarification of your past actions, more people might understand your reasons for leaving. I don’t think anyone didn’t want to see your edit; everyone was excited and ready to comment when you blatantly asked for it. However, your sudden departure and lack of updates elsewhere did paint a rather bad picture of you and inadvertently did cause some stirring. I do have one tip of advice, the website digital-fanedits.com is really not a good place to share your edit. It was made by the user I mentioned earlier who left solely because he wasn’t getting attention; and yes in his case, it was completely clear.
Feel free to share it with us here at originaltrilogy.com or fanedit.org, as there probably are still people interested if you would do us the honor of some more clarification on your untimely departure since, between deleted posts and unclear follow ups, your intent did get quite muddled. Bad feelings may have been stirred up unjustly due to sheer appearances.
