Is it?

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Are good to read?

I'd say two good.

Imagine you have a big nasty boil on your face. It hurts. So you throw a bandage on it and try to ignore it until it goes away.

Now imagine that everyone you meet, despite also hating boils, feels the need to talk about your boil, and poke it.

2/4's a big shmuck. We get it. He gets his kicks being a brat, then telling everyone how much smarter he is than them when they're annoyed at him. I'm sure this makes him very popular at his middle school. He's probably proud of how many threads there are discussing his antics.

BUT LET IT GO. I can't ignore him with you dudes constantly quoting him, discussing him, and poking the boil.

If we all ignore him, he fades away like an obnoxious Freddy Kruger at the end of "Nightmare" 1.

Holy carp.

I'm dead serious when I say I didn't even catch the thread title meaning until this post.

I guess my pledge is really working!

If that's how strongly you feel about some guy on a Star Wars forum, maybe you need a therapist.
But you won't get the help, because you're not reading this post ;)

No, not annoyed; when they act stupid.
But if you wrote that, you would be putting down those you're siding with, so you'd rather twist it around.

The issue seems to be that some people would prefer to act stupid without being told about it.

I'm sure this makes him very popular at his middle school.

I'm not at a middle school.

It's kinda amusing, but 90% is vicarious embarassment.

Totally agreeing with that. Stop acting like children and grow up.

No, Frink. It's something else.

You're absolutely right, Boost.  I just had to get it out of my system before going on pledge.

So why does everyone seem to believe that someone who behaves a certain way on a certain internet board, shows the same patterns in real life? Where does this obsession come from?

I think it's just so you can feel better. "Oh, this guy here, he thinks he's so smart, and I can't disprove or challenge him in any way, which sucks -- but at least I'm sure he's terribly unpopular in that primary school he's been visiting or 10 years! Yea, let's see how that kind of behavior works for him in real life!"

Well... no... sorry; you won't get even that.

This post is a prime example of someone who just doesn't have the balls to retreat completely.
This guy claims to be ahead of the curve, yet he can't resist posting a few snippy remarks in my general direction even though he has me on ignore and has NO IDEA WHAT I'M SAYING, aside from a few quote snippets.

Moving on and retreating is dignified; trying to score a few blows from that position, is laughable and pathetic. Like the fucking ostrich in the sand. And it doesn't matter how many other ostriches approve or say they agree - you're still exposed.

I think parts two and four of the Indiana Jones movies fell flat in a number of ways.  Must've been the bad humor, lack of intelligent dialogue, and just being way over the top on so many levels.  I bet somebody put too many commas in the scripts as well.
