CGI and Digital or Real models and actors-whats your prefferance.? — Page 3

About the whole CGI thing, one ironic twist: in the 1983 Academy Awards the movie Tron did not win the special effects award because the jury thought the movie "cheated" by using computers.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

I didn't know that. But then again, the Academy Awards does have a long history of stupid decisions.

Titanic was actually kinda entertaining. A bit silly, but it was an ok movie, didn't feel like it was a 3 and a half hour movie. I don't know why people hate Leonardo diCaprio, he's not a very good actor, I know, but he's ok.

I thought Titanic was awesome personally...
i dont care what people say about the whole love story being this and that.... who cares... i hardly even notice it anymore...
im more attached to the scenes just about the ship... and the characters on it...
and i still think the sinking of the ship was just unbelievable...

I liked Titanic as well. It's plot may have been a tad overwrought, and it may have been geared towards the adolescent girl crowd, but the sinking was nothing short of amazing. I had a time in junior high when I read everything I could find on the Titanic, and when I sat in the theatre, I was pleased at how accurate James Cameron managed to get things.
Also, don't pass off James Horner's score just because of that godawful Celine Dion song. Not his best composition, but one of his most solid pieces. Just skip past 'My Heart Will Go On,' and you'll be fine.

I enjoyed Titanic the two times I saw it. Haven't seen it since it was in theaters. But I did enjoy it. Save for, like HotRod said, that damn Celine Dion song.

Plus, Kate Winslet is topless. How can you go wrong? I don't care what people may think about KW and those who think she's overweight can just take a flying leap. She's a beautiful woman and a good actress (loved her in Quills).

I agree on all counts, except for the Quills part. I haven't seen it, but I'm sure she does a great job. Though looking back on 1997, Helen Hunt did deserve the Best Actress Oscar for 'As Good as it Gets.'

Yeah, she was good in that. But I'm just so tired of Helen Hunt now. Never really want to see another movie with her. Winslet I just cannot seem to get enough of. Although I'm glad she's not trying to be in every film out there (a la Halle Berry).

I'm tired of Helen Hunt, too. And Halle Berry, as well. I like it when an actor/actress is selective with his/her roles. It doesn't make them seem like they're too desperate to be paid, and instead take the jobs they take seriously.
