Harmy's RETURN OF THE JEDI Despecialized Edition HD - V3.1 — Page 14

Just downloaded this, Harmy. I wanted to mux in an alternate audio track so would like it in the form of BDMV and Certificate folders, as the other two movies were. How do I extract these folders from the ISO? I tried using WinRar and Undisker but they both couldn't find anything to extract from the ISO file.

Wow!

Many thanks Harmy.

I've just started downloading it and I doubt I'll watch it in entirety until I'm in the ROTJ mood (whenever that may be) so I just wanted to say thanks now rather than later for all the hard work.

edit: Oh and thanks for choosing to upload where you did. Much faster than the site you uploaded SW DeEd to, at least for me.

@Aluminium Falcon: Try mounting the ISO with Daemon Tools. Just out of interest, what audio track do you want to put in?

Thanks for the tip. I was planning on replacing the German audio track with the isolated score from DJ's V3, as I don't speak German.

OK, now that all three films are out, here are the finished covers:

And here's a download link to full res versions with typos corrected:

Could someone please run these through IMANDIX for me (or something similar - you know a program that puts them into boxes automatically). Ideally with the forum colour background.

Just to make sure, are those covers meant for bluray cases or dvd cases?

I've had a chance to scan through it. Everything looks and sounds beautiful! I'm having fun listening to it in other languages.

I may have missed this somewhere, but is the Czech dub made by fans or something? It's so different in quality! In a scene with The Emperor, Luke and Vader, for example, Palpy has a ton of echo, Luke sounds like he's in a small room and Vader sounds like they put the microphone in a bucket. :p There are times where there are no sound effects or music, too. Very interesting!

No, that's just because it's taken from an old VHS.

Oh and the covers are for Blu-Ray cases of course :-)

Man, their standards for the Czech audio sure were...different, to put it mildly. Old VHS or not, they shouldn't sound like that. I'm trying not to sound negative, but I can't help but feel that it seems unfair to the Czech fans! They don't deserve to get guy-talking-into-a-bucket Vader. :p

But, of course, I find it very interesting, and even though I don't speak it, I'm glad you put it on! :) I've listened to a lot of the German, too. It's fun hearing how different people put feeling into the roles. Han in German is especially interesting. Not as hammy. ;)

Just thought I'd better point out that the description on the back of the cases has a typo. The second N in 'uninterrupted" is missing.

Can't wait to see this on my PS3. JDownloader is putting the pedal to the grindstone, so I should have it soon :)

It should be the 'vile' gangster not 'ville' gangster also.

Well, I am Czech and I have to say a few words to explain the poor quality of the Czech dubbing Harmy put on his AVCHD.

Actually, there exist three Czech dubbings of Original Trilogy nowadays. The first one was made in 1992 for Guild Home Video for its VHS release and this is the one which Harmy put on his AVCHD. Its quality is really not so good... Only 10 dub-actors for whole movie, bad sound mix only in mono... There were made a lot of dubbings like this in Czech republic in early 90s. Because before 1989 (Velvet Revolution) there were not so many foreign films avalaible on VHS and after 1989 there appeared a lot of companies that profited this situation and wanted to made money at first place. So they had the dubbings made for the lowest price possible (usually with few dub-actors in some non-professional studio which was often located in some small room) and didn't care much abou its quality.

So Guild Home Video had this bad quality dubbing made because their release of SW Trilogy was the first one in Czech republic and they could be sure that people would buy it. So they had no reason to spend the money for a high quality dubbing...

The second Czech dubbing of Original Trilogy was made by Bonton Home Video in 1995 for its VHS release and Harmy put this one only on his ESB AVCHD:

AUDIO:

TRACK 1) hairy_hen's 5.1 purist mix @ 448Kbps AC3

TRACK 2) 1993 2.0 mix @ 320Kbps AC3

TRACK 3) 1980 2.0 mix @ 224Kbps

TRACK 4) 1992 2.0 CZ dub @ 192Kbps

TRACK 5) 1997 2.0 CZ dub @ 192Kbps

The sound is much better, Dolby Surround 2.0, but unfortunately the translation is not so good...

So for the Blu-ray release the third dubbing was made this year with right translation and 5.1 DTS sound mixed in LucasFilm so that all Czech Star Wars fans could be satisfied :-)

First of all, awesome to finally have this done. It's a great thing you've done here. Also those covers looks great and speaking of typos, here's two more i found

Wow, Harmy, this looks fantastic. I think ROTJ was the most FUBAR of the OT 2004 transfers.

The colors look brilliant and accurate. The Sarlacc looks totally seamless, far better than I'd ever imagined would be possible! The musical number blends in surprisingly well. The Death Star 'splosion looks good. And the final scene looks seamless too; I can't even tell when it switches sources!

The only thing that I think even potentially could be improved is Anakin's eyebrows. I'm sure what I am seeing is the best possible job of recompositing them, but I point this out as the sole item of changes that is not totally seamless.

That being said, I really need to find a blu-ray player. :)

My stance on revising fan edits.

Thanks Hal :-)

BTW, I replaced the link in the cover post with a link to fixed ful res covers:

Could someone please run those through IMANDIX for me (or something similar - you know a program that puts them into BD boxes automatically). Ideally with the forum colour background.

I finished downloading this last night, but won't be able to watch for a couple days due to crappy work schedule, but I will watch it sometime this week.  Just wanted to post and say great covers Harmy!! Now I need to buy more blu-ray cases. Used my last 3 on the back to the future trilogy. God that package was the worst in media history! Thanks for your hard work so we can all enjoy this.

Thanks, Nero, but I was hoping for someone with a full version of IMANDIX to make higher res ones (something like 1280 in width). And what's up with the dark stripe at the bottom? I don't mean to sound ungrateful but those just aren't exactly what I had in mind.
