Hey, I can't know what's going on inside your head, but I can certainly make reasonable deductions from how a post is written:
"And if I'm such a noob I hadn't known that, how am I supposed to make sure everyone else has it in their cache, too, so they can see the picture, based on your little "hint"? [This is a joke. I thought there was a way to make a picture appear on the page through some trick, and it obviously can't be achieved through altering others' caches.]
So I guess the answer is avoiding the pictures that don't show, eh?"
Yea, that means if I see a picture that doesn't work with hotlinking, I just have to let it be - which is kinda obvious, but also lame.
At any rate, obviously I've got the "hint" at least by that point.
Now you:
"This post proves beyond a doubt that you are either a bigger fucking idiot than I ever realized, or you simply didn't read Fink's post. Or maybe we're working with a language gap here. He explained in detail what you had to do to see if your images are working or not. [So you're saying I've missed something that he said... even though I just repeated just that above.] I was actually shocked myself to see him nicely and politely trying to help you, and extremely amused that you responded to his effort with hostility.
You CAN'T make sure it is in everyone elses caches. What you can do, and what Fink explained how to do, is figure out if the only reason you are seeing it is because it is in YOUR cache. If hot linking isn't allowed for an image, and the host is going through an effort to keep it from being hot linked, then you just need to find that image in another location or resolve to use another image."
So that's all phrased as if I didn't get it, and thought I'd have to magically alter others' caches instead of WHAT I SAID ABOVE. No "as you guessed", no "yes, that was the idea", but lots of "you didn't read Frink's post" and "you need to do this, not this!" as if it was somehow new to me.
I mean, you know CP, if you want to express confirmation for someone's correct "guess" (which was less of a guess, than just a lazy admission of what I'd realized long before that), but phrase it UNAMBIGUOUSLY as if you were telling someone who had no clue, then maybe you're the one with the language problem.
I guess I'll believe you if you insist that's how you meant it, but, oh man.
