as for why so many of the OT dislike the PT. The PT is different, that is why. they are nothing like the originals except for a few story links. but the fact remains that when looking at the saga as a whole objectively all of the movie besides ESB and the TPM are about even. ESB is better the the rest and TPM is a little worse. the PT is so different from the originals in the way that they are bight and the OT was dark. in the way that the PT uses CGI and the OT uses puppets, in the way that the PT is not a new idea whereas the OT was. people genrally like what they grew up it, they prefer what they have always known about rather then new stuff that is the problem. OT fans go to see the PT expecting every thing that they saw in the OT but they will not get this because the movie are being made 20 years later. there are better technologies better and cheaper ways of doing effect now then there were 20 years ago. and the fact is that this change is too much for OT fans. they do not like the PT because it is so different from there OT. The OT they grew up with and which they adored. they feel that anyhitng that is going to be part of the series must be made in the same way and have the same effect on them as it did when they were little. the fact is that there is nothing that GL could have done that would have made them happy besides make the movies with the same techonology as he did before. and that is just not smart, its not innovative, and it is just stupid. the OT fans have grown up and the same stuff will not have the same effects on them, they are matured now and that is why they look at the things inthe PT as say " oh that looks cartoonie, or that is not right" i am sure things like the ewoks and little desert guys witht eh red eyes seems too cartoonie for the people in the seventies that were used to stuff from the 60s. the fact is that times have changed and people have changed and so SWs can never have the same effect. the effect of the OT was uneque to the poeple who saw them when they were little.( i remind everyone that i am a major SW books fan, and that is knida gone now too, and a casual fan of the movies)
