It seems like the better the book, the worse the film.

Goblet Of Fire was one of the best books in the series, and it got terrible treatment in it's adaptation.

Order Of The Phoenix was a pretty weak book untill the last little bit, and it's movie was really good.

I think Prisoner Of Azkaban was the most faithful, though I would've liked Sirrius to have been as menacing a threat as he was in the book. Gary Oldman played it flawlessly, but many great scenes were cut that added to the fear.

I like Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone the best, simply because it is the most visually interesting. It's also more magical, where as the others really aren't. It seems more like Dragon Ball Z than wizardry in the later films.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Fight Club.

I watched it on my portable DVD player, because I am on a road trip.

"The Dark Knight"

I seem to like it more and more each time I watch it.

Any movie that plays Rammstein thrice deserves 4 stars in my book.

Skyline - 8* human vacuums out of 10*

(* referring only to the visual effects)

Skyline [Film Score] - 1 Daniel Twin out of 10

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

I give EyeShotFirst's use of the word "thrice"  three out of three stars.

Tree of Life

I just got back from the theater, and this is one of the best movies I've ever seen.  Amazing.  It's in a (wider) limited release, but if you get the chance see it in theaters while it's still there.

I most definitely need to see this movie in the theater. I loved A Thin Red Line and (most of) The New World. I have yet to see Days of Heaven. I love slow, meditative films with gorgeous cinematography.

If you liked it, I'm certain I will!

The film itself is total garbage.  But the cool shiny things made my eyes drool.  I will amend the score.

Then you will love this movie.  The imagery is amazing, and the movie itself is just... well... impossible to explain.  It's life--in film form.

Oh, okay.  We're good.

Though I have to say the ending was very... unique and unexpected.

Yeah seriously Skyline was pathetic and I gave myself a pass on my personal "never text in movies" rule for that one. However, Donald Faison was good in it.

Really?  I'm a Faison fan, and I thought he was uncharacteristically unlikeable in this "movie".

On Her Majesty's Secret Service on LD. It gets better every time. The Lazenby purrs in PCM. 5,000 Big brawny Australian balls.

I watched The Untouchables for the first time in ages. Was flipping channels and landed on AMC's Mob week where they were showing this pan n' scan with a bunch of smearing and crummy audio. So I realized I had an LD floating around of it in a stack I picked up from someone who was throwing them out.

It's a lot better than what I used to give it credit for, but the ending is just so empty. It really leaves the viewer hanging. You want more but it just never gives the plot depth you're looking for. 3 of yoursh in the hoshpital out of 4 of theirsh in the morgue. The PCM track did show a nice mix and good soundstage-good ol' Dolby Stereo. Ennio Morricone always shines. And watching this reminded me once again of how talented Connery is and how sad it is to think of him as retired.

I felt the same way when I watched it recently. But it still has a lot of fun moments along the way.

I saw Clerks for the first time. I'd foolishly expected not to like it. But it made me happy inside.

I gave it 4 outta 5 stars on netflix.
