LOL

Had to smirk at our Masters in Westminster's choice of feem toon for the 2012 Olympics.

Lovely tune and all but have the bean counters actually listened to it?

Even changing the lyrics to a dystopian punk song about urban blight, Imperial collapse, phony Nationalism and sticking two fingers up to the impending nuclear holocaust is hardly going to make things better or is it?   

Sometimes I think I would be more popular on here if I didn't share the same name as the.......other Ziggy.

If it makes you feel better, whenever I hear "Zig" or "Ziggy" I now think of you first, if only because you still post.

And when you are older (15?) you will learn that popularity is way overrated.  Just be the best Zig you can be.

I need a someone to recommend a term for a dude who reads PM's but doesn't respond, so I know what to call Greeny from now on.

Guess where I was going this weekend?

Bloody hayfever.

The cabin crew suggested we all go out and club it. I had no option; it was that or one of there B&Bs. I figured it’d be safer on the streets. For the first time ever I saw the Scotch in their natural habitat, and it weren’t pretty. I’d seen them huddling in stations before, being loud but… this time I was surrounded. Everywhere I went it felt like they were watching me; fish-white flesh puckered by the Highland breeze; tight eyes peering out for fresh meat; screechy, booze-soaked voices hollering out for a taxi to take ‘em halfway up the road to the next all-night watering hole. A shatter of glass; a round of applause; a sixteen-year-old mother of three vomiting in an open sewer, bairns looking on, chewing on potato cakes. I ain’t never going back… not never.

I was just thinking about the term "actual LOL" that invaded the internet a few months ago and has now replaced "LOL" (which in itself was already an incredibly annoying term); and I realized how comical it is that "LOL" has become so lightly and frequently, that someone felt the need to distinguish when they were actually laughing out loud, and when they were just saying "LOL" to indicate that something was funny, even if it wasn't funny enough to cause them to really laugh.

Even more amusing is the fact that "actual LOL" seems to be well on its way to replacing "LOL" outright, which will make us ask the question, I wonder if this is a real actual LOL?

And how about those people who verbalize the term "LOL" in actual verbal conversation? One day my reflexes will get the best of me and I'll end up getting into a lot of trouble for smacking someone.
