Personal-pleasuring device has become sentient?
What does this have to do with Star Wars?
"Well here's a big bag of rock salt" - Patton Oswalt
I...
*speechless*
I've recently been thinking that Neil Nunes off BBC Radio 4 would make a great stand in voice for JEJ if anyone needed more Darth Vader (even if sometimes he sounds like Brian Blessed's laid back, non-shouty Jamaican cousin).
Hello everyone I read the forum for a while now but I decided to register today.
I just found this interview of Noel Gallagher (Oasis) where he talks about his favorites movies. Here's his opinion about Star Wars and the special editions.
"Not the silly edition with the f**king dinosaurs in it, the original. I was ten when this came out, and I still believe that galaxy is going on somewhere, a long, long time ago and far, far away. And even now it looks state of the art. You know it's a big guy from Cornwall in a furry gorilla suit, but it doesn't really matter. It deals with the most basic premise of good vs evil and someone got to rescue the girl, but you've got to admire someone with the vision to invent an entire language. It blew my mind, and I can't wait for it to blow my son's mind. Then I'll be able to say to him "wait until you find out who his Luke Skywalker's Dad is". That will bend his head. Fuck Blade Runner. Blade Runner is Radiohead. Star Wars is Oasis."
As always this guy is very honest and I'm glad that musicians comments about this issue.

Ha-ha, that's awesome.
Welcome to the forum.

Classic pompous Gallagher.
Hello L.
Surely Oasis is The Shape Of Things To Come (1979).
That "Star Wars is Oasis" comment meant more to me before I realized it came from the guy who started Oasis.

Ziggy Stardust is Labyrinth.
I myself am Stargate (not the silly edition with fucking MacGyver in it, the original).

You're doing it wrong. You're not supposed to say you are a movie.... you're supposed to say the movie is you.

I found this article published a few month ago :
9 actors who saved otherwise mediocre movies :

2 Harrison Ford - Star Wars
I am going to catch hell for this one, but search your feelings, you know it to be true. Without Ford’s iconic performance as Han Solo, Star Wars is just the hokey story of a whining farm boy who catches the eye of a weird old wizard and then flies around space accompanied by a pair of gay robots and an overgrown dog man. Or, to put it another way, if you take Harrison Ford as Han Solo out of Star Wars and its sequels, you know what you get? The Phantom Menace. That’s right. Ford managed to drag the original Star Wars films over the line that separates cheesy from awesome with his ultra-charismatic and cool performance as Han Solo. It wasn’t George Lucas who did it. Hell no. Let’s not forget that Lucas scripted Han to boringly respond “I love you too” after Leia told him she loved him just before he was frozen in carbonite and it was Ford who ad-libbed the line “I know.” That is the scene which sums up Han’s whole character and it was because of Harrison Ford, not George Lucas. He made Star Wars what it is today. You can have all the special effects you want and you can spend a billion dollars creating a whole universe that looks amazing, but if you don’t have the right attitude and you don’t have something that makes it all feel genuine and real, then you don’t have anything. Thankfully for George Lucas, he had Harrison Ford and he should get on his hands and knees and thank the maker every day that he did, because in the end, Harrison Ford is what made Star Wars go.
I don't agree at all with his opinion, of course without Ford the movies wouldn't have been the same he brought a new dimension to the character and made him likable but the first 2 films would still be good. It's not like the other actors weren't good or the plot was boring.
In his article he also mentions Johnny Deep for the POTC. I agree with him, Deep reminds me of an old French actor that you might have seen in the Fantomas movies, Louis de Funes.
They both played in many terrible movies among pretty bad actors but their acting performance are close to genius and save the whole thing.

I can believe it, Clone Wars is the current thing for selling trinkets, the prequels were last year's model.
Yes but still they'll re-release the Phantom Menace in 3D next year and they have to the sell the bluray box-sets too.
Beside they're harsh comments toward LucasFilm in the article for instance
The cartoon is better than the three prequel movies. I watch it because its the only good thing LucasFilm have done with Star Wars for many many years.”

Especially since we've established that R2 is asexual. Or is it bi? I can't remember.
BBC News website is now a free gutter tabloid, in other news EWOK FLASHES HIS JUNK AT GIRL!!! (he was also a Goblin in Harry Potter 1 which somehow is more news worthy these days).
Incidentally this happened to me when I was about her age but he wasn't a diminutive bit part actor.
