I love the bit where the guy in the pilot uniform (and glasses) punches the air when the Death Star blows up, and nobody else does.

The website cockup is the cherry on the cake.

I love the reference to the 'OT.COM thing' here.

A better look at what comicon was showing. (and some nice dinner theater awkwardness as a bonus!)

Looking at that painfully am-dram laden clip, it's clear the blue glow is still there in the Death Star explosion - I cannot believe (actually, yes I can!) that Lucasfilm have been so lazy that that hasn't been fixed! It's been - what - 7 years since the 2004 DVD release?!

I really hope this half-assed release is universally panned - but it'll probably shoot to the top fo the best bluray seller lists in days :/

I guess it's no longer an acronym since it came from here.  Sheesh.

OMFG!

I feel like I'm going to throw up.  If only Lucasfilm put all that money this joke of a display "experience" cost towards a OUT restoration...well...it's likely I would not have thrown up.

It's things like this that make people look down on us Star Wars fans.

Ha-ha, check out commenter #2 on that youtube clip.  And perhaps we should flag the video as inappropriate?  ;-)

I agree 100%.   Those fully-costumed adults speaking and acting as though it's all real - that shit is tough to watch.  Actually, it's beyond that.  It's just plain embarrassing.  I get the same feeling whenever I see Lucas explaining the saga as though it were real.

It looks like they just carelessly upped the brightness on most of these movies. Look at the Death star and how it's almost... green. I suppose it's a step in the right direction if nothing else, but still.

Dude, it's Comic Con! You can't go five feet without bumping into a stormtrooper. Or a Slave Leia. ;)

Last time I checked, there were fully costumed adults at Disneyland who act like Star Tours is a real spaceport...

If anyone enjoys the awkwerdness of this type of presentation, on TWC288 (available on a.b.sw) is a recording of the 1996 Toy Fair which has a Rebel trooper and Death Star commander explaining the upcoming SE toy line.

You thought the battle of Endor was won because of Vader throwing the Emperor down the shaft or the ewoks brave fighting against the Empire's troopers.  But NO! it was really won because the Rebel Pilot pictured below used his Hasbro Luke Skywalker (TM) Action Figure to defeat the Hasbro Darth Vader (TM) Action Figure of the Death Star employee.

I think these sort of presentations have been going on at cons and trade shows for decades. It's not exclusive to Star Wars or Lucasfilm.

And if the setting had been Jabba's palace with buxom slave girls of several species showing off the Blu Rays, the Humdinger would never have been spotted at all! ;)

I am sorry if I argue with some of you in this forum so please forgive me I was wrong the 2004 dvd's they are indeed messed up and they do have a messed up sound mix for episode 4 a new hope. So I do apologize arguing with all of you here you where  all right all along. In the end we are all star wars fans no matter what are opinions of different topics are. And to Adywan I'm sorry I argued with you about those issues. And I do mean that.  We are Star Wars fans to the very end and star wars is forever.

star wars is forever.

...one last time.

kenkraly2007, Where did you learn such craziness that the 2004 DVDs were messed up?  People loved them, they said they are the greatest looking sounding version of Star Wars evar.  What brings on this insincere contrition today?

we are all star wars fans no matter what are opinions

What do we do if our opinion is that we're not star wars fans?

1. Because  some of the members here brought it up and where talking about it 2. How can you say don't not like star wars? We all like star wars in one form or another. I even like all versions of Star Wars , UOT , OOT and SE and the PT.
