There's a difference between believing and having proof that you can use to explain to someone else why your belief turned out to be correct.

Maybe 'CanofallErrors', this forum should be able to figure out a nice catchy name for this 'feature'.  'The Official Humdinger'?

 

Once the disc is release will be interesting to compare this frame to the HD version which seemed closer to the original source, as the error is clearer and show less sign of re-compression.  pic here:

But on the Cut Scene material, it's a great thing to see, and the quality they have been provided in will just spark the community to develop clean up skillz for the eventual fan scan.  But the Treadwell scene looks worse then what I remember the black/white version from Behind the Magic cdrom, will do a cross comparison.  That Luke going off into the sandstorm shot is so sweet.  Wonder if Kurtz's has been remembering that shot all these years and he's wished that the movies ended with this shot.

Top is Behind the Magic 'Lost Cut' version and below the recent blu-ray cutscene preview.  So even after the Lost Cut this sequence was still worked on as they've revised the second shot.  On the dirt aspect, the one vertical bar (far left) is in both.
