Star Wars Xbox 360 — Page 2

I'm not a gamer, but if I were, this would be my pick for sure.  I love the attention to detail and the nod to staying true to the first film.  The accompanying video is very interesting and nice to see how much thought went into doing it right.  Having a personal machine in the likeness of two culturally iconic film droids is a perfect idea.

And this...

...fucking makes the thing.  Genius.

That is really cool that is written inside the disc tray!

Now if only they included a speaker in the controller so it could babble on and pester you in Anthony Daniel's voice while you tried to play your games, then this thing would be perfect.

That looks sweet, I'm almost tempted to buy it to replace my current one.

Because there's no SW Kinect game coming out on PS3?

You're right! We would all be crazy for not being complete consumer whores and replacing are completely functional 360 consoles with these new ones!

It was precisely the answer I was fishing for.

I'm pretty sure the components to add to my xbox to make it like the R2 box would even out the cost:

Kinect Sensor with Kinect Adventures: $150
250 GB Hard Drive: $130
Kinect Star Wars: $60
New Controller: $50

That's a total of almost $400. So for $150 more, I could get all that, a bigger hard drive, and an xbox that isn't pushing 4 years old that gets really hot when you have it on for more than half an hour that I can sell for at least $100.

Sounds better all the time.

I hear you. On the other hand I have a newer X-box with the 250 hdrive, plus I think with Kinect is stupid, so it makes no sense to me.

Plus, I hate everything Star Wars related these days. The prequels and the terrible past 11 years of EU have left me scarred.

I've got a wife who would enjoy some of the Kinect features and an older (it was refurbished) Xbox with no HDMI and a 20 GB hard drive that I've just made the centerpiece of my entertainment life. This works for me, very well. I don't need a fourth controller, but it couldn't hurt with games like Goldeneye 007: Reloaded coming out.

Yeeeeeeess!!

Truthfully, when I was first reading the article I was thinking of how I would be tempted to find a way to get it a little dirty and banged up.

Because the Xbox is better and looks prettier...  ;)

Erm, actually, because it was Microsoft's idea (best I can gather) and they make the 360. And it is made to be bundled with Kinect Star Wars, which (obviously) is a 360 exclusive.

Not to mention your old system is going to RROD (wrap a towel around it) any moment now (like say, a couple of days after this unit goes up for sale?), and once that tragedy strikes, there is no way your wife can say no to the purchasing of a new system, especially one with the added value of a Kinect and that silly Star Wars game (AND Artoo beeping!).

I've been wanting one of the new 360's for practical reasons. Firstly for sound reasons as the new 360's are whisper quiet while my current 360 sounds like a film projector. Secondly, because they're smaller and I tend to switch my console between my room and the living room quite frequently.

They're pretty slick looking, nice and compact, and the mass number of USB ports is a plus.

I'd agree, though I'd make it plural, as I thought LEGO Star Wars III was pretty fantastic regardless of the fact that I've never seen more than a single episode of The Clone Wars nor have any interest to.

Yeah, I meant that to be plural, since even the first 360 LEGO Star Wars game was a compilation of the two games before it.

The Force Unleashed titles have been really good sellers too. But yeah, like 005 said, it is for the Kinect Star Wars game, which is suppose to be an extremely big deal and move a lot of Kinect units.

Oh, didn't know they were making that. Weird, since not too long ago I remember them saying that they wouldn't be able to do anything like lightsaber controls, because of the severe limitations of the Kinect "controller" (or whatever they call it).
