And, finally, some thoughts of my own:

So, I felt like I finally had to watch Transformers 2.  All of the TVs at Walmart were playing the "forrest fight scene" over and over again and I thought it looked pretty cool.  I knew it was terrible, but I figured everyone else got to see it and pronounce it terrible, that I should as well.

Here are some random thoughts:

  • Why is most of the action completely unintelligible?  The first scene with the contructocon- Lots of sound and fury, but who knows what else is going on?  The forrest fight appealed to me because it was at least something you could see and understand.
  • Why is there so much sex and drugs in a movie based on a toy line/cartoon for 8 year olds?
  • 2.5 hours?!?!  Seriously?
  • Why are Sam's parents in this movie?
  • Why doesn't Optimus Prime act more like Optimus Prime?
  • The twins?  I heard about them when the movie came out... but seriously, who thought this was a good idea?  I heard they were offensive racial stereotypes, and I'm sure they are... but they're not funny or interesting either.  Not that that would excuse racial stereotyping... but it would help explain what they were doing there!?!??  WHO DOES THAT?
  • Do any of the transformers, aside from Optimus and Megatron and maybe Starscream have personalities?  I know Sideswipe had a line or two.  Bumblebee is... unique.
  • Are there any fan edits that make this thing watchable?  I suspect that there's not... since the story is so all over the place...  but there are some decent elemets here, I think, if they were taken out of context.
  • It's a pretty decent D-Box movie.  Too bad that didn't really save it.  2012 is a good example of a bad movie made good with D-Box.  Transformers 2 is a good example of a bad movie that can't be saved with D-Box.
  • Seriously, how much better is the 1986 animated movie?  That thing rocks.

Okay, I think that does it.  I had to play "cut the rope" on my phone just to feel like I wasn't completely wasting my time.
