Where did the name for the "no true Scotsman" fallacy come from? Was it just random, some anectode, or an sense of pride ascribed to or frequent among Scotsmen?
I can count the times a Scot has said something like that, close enough for me to hear, with the fingers of one hand.
I've probably heard other people say it more, indeed I've heard more people say variations of, "no true homosexual would..." etc
But it tends to pass largely IGNORED around here.
