The icy breath looks fine, very subtle and yet it adds atmosphere to the beautiful set so it looks even less like a set (surely the whole point of these special editions).

I know you want to encourage people to donate and free up space in your home but some of the items you are offering might actually come in handy for future projects.

ROTS for example established that generators like the Rebel one in ESB are used elsewhere in the Star Wars galaxy and some of the big guns used by the Rebels could be portable enough to use on Endor.

That ain't such a bad idea Bingowings.  Yeah I'd also suggest holding onto the props until your Revisited saga is complete Ady. :)

Just thought I'd chip in and say that I'm a big fan of the 'icy-breath'; I'm confident that if I didn't know what to look for in the video, the breaths wouldn't have stuck out to me, and as it is, I think they really heighten the immersion factor.

The icy breath is a good idea, but will take a lot of work to make it look right.  As is, it kinda sticks out and seems a little 'off'.  Like has been said before, the breath will need to be there for bigger breaths and need to match what is being said to the T, otherwise it looks fake.

I also think the breath would only be apparent in the outdoor or Wampa cave settings because of the great decrease in temperature.  I envision the rebel base as more of an igloo environment with natural insulation, where it is colder, but not so much that heavy jackets are needed all the time.  A lot of characters are in lighter apparel, wear no hats, or have their jackets unzipped.  Once acclimated to a slightly cooler, but not frigid, environment, water vapor from breathing is barely perceptible if visible at all.

O.T. or No T., baby!

There is no need to add breath to the really outdoor scenes as they were really shot outdoors in the cold.

As opposed to the kind of sort of outdoor scenes?

Also, given your past history of complaining about adywan's progress, your sig is really lame.

I take it he's had that sig for a while now? I hadn't noticed.

I suppose he means the ones that were actually shot outside, but it would need to be added to stuff like the Wampa cave.

Breath vapor isn't necessarily visible just because it's cold. You need a specific cocktail of conditions (temperature, humidity, air pressure) to condense breath vapor into water. If characters don't have visible breath in a scene, it could be for a few plausible reasons. Maybe Han and Leia were dehydrated?

While we are on this 'plausible' subject, I always wondered why no pressure suits when they squelch around in a space slugs guts?

Yeah, not to mention that the little gravity there would be would be towards the centre of the asteroid and therefore the way the slug is positioned, deeper into the slugs innards, so they couldn't walk around like that - the moment they would set foot outside Falcon's artificial gravity field, they'd start falling towards the slug's "other" end ;-)

It's only an issue in a Science Fiction movie.

Star Wars is Sinbad in Space so space slugs work the same way as Jonah's big fish.

Well, I guess it's true that the whole concept of a space slug like that is so implausible, that any discussion of how certain scientific principles apply to it is probably quite pointless ;-)

Though implausible, it's relatively too much.  Most movies are implausible on some level.  But movies tend to set rules for themselves on the level of suspension of disbelief.  I can buy into the concept of a giant space slug in the Star Wars universe.  I can even rationalize the gravity issue to myself within SW context (perhaps the cave curved so that outside the Falcon we still face down, and few movies accurately represent low gravity).  However, I can't buy into no pressurized suits.  That may be the one big issue that has always bothered me a bit about this movie.

I should put in my 2 credits on the frosty breath.  Personally, I like it and don't find it distracting.  I think it is simply a subtle touch and if this had been the first time I'd ever watched the film, it would not stand out to me at all.  However, as it is a laborious process, and since there are several good reasons given why the breath might not be frosty within the base, I am not offended if it is never added.  My recommendation to Adywan: go with what you prefer on this one.

The space slug is probably one of the worst scenes in the original trilogy.

TESB would be a better movie without it though you lose some character/story development on the Han & Leia arc if you cut it and all of the attendant scenes wholesale.

I'm a fan of the added breath stuff.  Lived in Wisconsin my whole life and trust me, you don't see your breath all of the time when you're outside in cold weather.  Nice touch of realism but it also strikes me as something you could slowly drive yourself nuts doing.

Yeah...wasn't Jedi part of the original trilogy? :p

Are you saying that JEDI was the worst scene in the original trilogy?
