No, it's not. The smoke is surely an on-set effect and is exactly the same in the OOT as in the SE. The problem is that this shot is very unsharp and extremely grainy in the GOUT. I can't put less smoke there, it looks too bad that way, I was actually tempted to add more of it. You must keep in mind that YOUTUBE compression takes away a lot of fine detail and therefore makes the quality difference less pronounced. Also, I made some more tweaks to the smoke in this video.
