Going to see Del the Funky Homosapien next Sunday! Is it wrong that I'm going along with my 17 year old's plan to use fake ID to get into this over 18s event? Might be the last time Del comes out and we are both big fans...

I went to see A Tribe Called Quest with him last year at an all-ages concert and everyone was smoking weed anyway... I had a great time and wouldn't have missed their one and only time in Oz, but I wasn't impressed with the gig. Live hip-hop usually sucks unfortunately. The main reason I like Quest is their jazzy, laid-back style and the concert was just far too loud and obnoxious.* They came out screaming like Public Enemy. Ali still kicked ass. The "DJ" from De La Soul was one of the warm ups and he didn't scratch or even match beats. Dude was just playing mp3s off his computer.

*I know they say "if it's too loud, you're too old" but my son agreed.
