What kind/brand of laserdisc player were you talking about for it to be able to output in RGB 4:4:4? All laserdisc players I looked at have only composite or S-Video outputs. Even the allmighty Pioneer HLD-X9 doesn't have anything better than S-Video.
How big your 'digital master' would be using that capture method? Would it be uncompressed or could it be compressed with a lossless codec for a smaller size?
Nobody else but you at the moment have the means to make that kind of quality output. I'd love to fiddle with that kind of equipment. Your OT DVDs will certainly be made of the best source available!
