I just posted this over at the HTC Forum's SW on BD thread and I thought I'd share my thoughts about the probability of having a new transfer with you as well :-)
Coressel:
I can't imagine that the 90 second Blu-Ray promo includes the finished product. How many times does any kind of trailer for anything represent a finished product?
Harmy:
See these Jurassic Park and LOTR EE boxed sets trailers, both of them are showing off the new HD transfers:

It's like this: Most of the time when studios do make a brand new HD master, they usually just won't shut up about it in their campaign.
It would make absolutely no marketing sense to spend money on making a new transfer and keep it secret when pre-orders
are already up and the master used is being discussed all over the internet and is important for many people's decision whether
to buy the set or not.
If on the other hand they were recycling a flawed 8 years old master made for DVD, it would make a lot of sense to keep it a secret as long as possible, so that no one is sure about the transfer and a lot of people will pre-order it, because they still have some faith in the studio.
