The Town - 9/10

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

Sucker Punch

Its been touted as a future fan-boy classic, reasons being, a dragon, orcs, hot babes, nazi zombies, a war mech, big arsed samari warriors and mind pluck story line that asks for a second viewing.

I liked it. Carp in parts. Its weird yet epic.

Have you seen TMBTM's Sharksploitation edit?

Weird, yet epic also.

I looked at a big arsed DVD of Jaws limited collectors edition at a store a few weeks ago in a folding case (second hand at £25), with loads of ship that aint in my 2 disk DVD.

Went back to go and get it yesterday, and.......

"Fat, Sick, and Almost Dead"

Nonsense 'documentary' about various vague notions of food health, juice fasting, but mostly innuendos and unspecific claims. I gave up 30 min in.

V for vendetta: I've never read the comics, I thought it was a great film. 7 out of 10 balls.

Watchmen: I have read the comic and saw this in the theatre. I love both. Some line deliveries are strange but overall its a great movie. (I know a lot of people don't agree with me on this) 8.5 out of 10 balls

I have it in my big stack of DVDs to watch this summer. This is one of them.

Jaws.

Watched it today as well. First time I've seen it in HD. You just can't beat classic Spielberg.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Oh I agree. Close Encounters of the Third Kind is another really great classic Spielberg film.

That reminds me, has anyone heard anything about Jaws getting a blu-ray release yet?

They are working on one, no release date as of yet. They are also working on Indy Blu Rays, theatrical at that.

Speaking of which, Syfy was advertising the premiere of KOTCS, so I scanned forward to see "Raiders of the Lost Ark" as the title of the first film. Is Spielberg going back to the original title finally?

Sry, just was confusing and illogical to me. The movie seemed to try real hard to inject an emotional angle on it, but came out lame to me.

Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon

Unlike you, Greeny, my expectations were in the right place.  I saw it in Imax 3D and paid as little attention as possible to the storyline/acting/etc. and simply enjoyed explosion after transformation after explosion, and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Having said that, I have no intention to watch it ever again, but holy shit can Michael Bay blow shit up in style.
