All ok although I want to hear from Leo first about edizione italiana a cura di Claudio Razzi translated as "Italian edition edited by Claudio Razzi".

"Edited" sounds too much as if he actually decided for the editing of the movie while "a cura" only means he was responsable for the dubbing. We either just say "by Claudio Razzi" or "curated by Claudio Razzi" (?). Leo what's your thought on this?

Hehe, that's a good question msycamore. Yes they should be two different companies. I guess CD made the dubbing into CDS dubbing studios, directed by Razzi. It's just a guess though.

Keep in mind that C.D., C.D.S etc are all cooperatives of dubbers, so it's basically groups of dubbers who collaborated together.

wow! this is a great project you're working on here!

I just came across this thread researching for a little essay I am writing on the Sound Design in THX 1138. (The fact that it is so hard to get a hold of the theatrical and original version and information about what the differences are, makes trying to write a historical account of the movie really a kind of science fiction itself...) Anyhow, watching the director's cut on dvd I stumbled on a scene where the subtitles suggest a little detail that would be a really nice gimmick to my argument. But I am not sure where these subtitles came from. So I thought I could bring that up here. Maybe this is even of interest for you. And maybe you have some thoughts on that or any information related to it. I would be really grateful for any hint, what to think of it. If this is too off-topic, then I am sorry, please just ignore it.

Around 20 Minutes into the film, there is this kind of auditorium with spectators "following" a sound bouncing back and forth from left to right.

Now, the english subtitles say that the sound heard is actually a sentence, that LUH had said to THX in a scene before this, when she talks about that they are being watched: "I can feel it" But this sound really doesn't sound like language one could understand and as far as I know this hasn't been in the script. However, the idea that the surveillance system in the society of THX uses its recorded sounds to play it back in a kind of spectacle somehow seems to makes sense to me. So I am really wondering if I can use that to support my thesis on what is going on there or if this was just some subtitle guy going wild...

Looks like wild subtitling to me but I should check the scene again. I leave the answer to others

If it wasn't for you we wouldn't have known the extended SEN scene ever made it to video in English.
