Yeah I saw that, and saw that it was my dang brother's account. I told him to end it,and he hasn't so I don't know what to do Needless to say I won't be giving him copys of any more of my discs.

Um, you might wanna grow some balls and take care of the situation before somebody decides that you're actually a liability to the project and to these forums. You're the catalyst for this whole project, DarthCarr, I thought you'd do more to protect it. Slap your brother around abit, for chrissake.
I went to him today and asked him about it and he just said "oh you know about that?",and told him about it,and finally I I went to his dvd collection and took them from him,and he looks to have closed the ioffer listing as it says "No longer available" and he called and said ok he closed it,but it won't come completely off ioffer. Anyone use it so I can tell him to delete it completely? I don't have a account there, and have no idea as how to help him. Thank God tho, that noone bought them. I'm sorry guys I have the discs, and it won't happen again. It sucks tho, thought I could trust him.

this thread is turning into a bad sitcom.

It does doesnt it? My whole life has became a bad dramedy lately, lol.

Hey all - can anyone please help me with getting copies of the last three discs of this DOTD set? Is there info on torrents for these somewhere? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Do or do not...there is no try...

Just thought I'd better put in a new post, at the last one was about 4 months ago.
The last work i did on the DOTD composite edit was around the 1st of July. Around
that time I got really busy with other things and it got put to one side (that then
became quite a long way to one side!) then I had other pet projects that came &
went and I didn't come back to it.

So here we are! When I'd left it I had all the video edited and I was going through
the audio trying to make that work, I got as far as around 13mins in. The most difficult
bit so far was the section from wooley going nuts up to the start of the talk between
peter & roger after the swat guy shoots himself. In that section each of the 3 versions
has a different backing music and I was switching between them almost shot to shot.
In the end i had to rubber band out all the audio, overlay one backing track from the
score CD across the whole sequence, then rubber band back in any speech or sound
effects i could seperate out enough from their backing tracks so that you wouldn't
notice. Then using a pile of sound effects CDs i had to add in some more of the missing
sound effects, copy and paste in some sound effects and bits of background speech from
elsewhere in the audio tracks and then add ambience noise to fill it all out. I even had to
record myself making zombie noises (!) to use for the sequence when the footless and the
female zombie attack in the appartment as it was too quiet to seperate any of the existing
noises from their music backing track. After all that it still needs more work to smooth it out.

And all that after only 13 mins! having done that I think it is do-able, not an impossible task.
It'll just take a whole stack of time. At the moment its sitting on my hard drive so I can
re-start it whenever I want. I'll have a go this week, I dont mind doing short sections like
the one above with longer simpler sections inbetween but if i have to painstakingly work
though the the entire 2-1/2 hours doing that I'm not sure it won't go back off to one
side again... for a couple of months... very quickly!

Thanks for the hard work, SNE. I imagine I speak for most when I say take all the time you need! We'll still be here.

Thanks for the update, See No Evil. How are things going with you, CW?

Hai Thar!
Things are just thsimply thsuper with me thanks The Griff.
I'm basically 58 minutes into the audio and I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel, as See No Evil said it just takes a long time (and it is indeed painstaking in places) however things are changing...
Soon I may/may not be still working on it, thanks to one of my other projects some stuff has happened in recent weeks that may/may not allow me to continue with dotd. It may/may not be that I will have to pass it on to my twin brother of XiDAR Fan Projects to finish or something...if.. you.. follow.. me... I don't really know *just* yet...

Intriguing CW

Indeed thanks for all the renewed interest from various quarters and the hard work that has been going on.

I've reached a bit of an impasse for the next few discs so will hold off until I get anything more concrete to swing it, but it's just hibernating - not (un)dead

when you say the new Dawn of The Dead you mean the original one,not the remake right?
if so it is friggin sweet!

for that matter so was,Halloween,Evil Dead II,Day of The Dead, and Bram Stoker's Dracula, they were all a ton better than the original DVD's!

I just watched the Blu-Ray of DAWN projected at about 12 feet wide and it looked spectacular. Same transfer done for the Divimax DVD but the increased resolution really brings it all to life with a clarity that puts some big budget movies of its era to shame. And it would seem to be the same story for DAY. I'd pick them up without hesitation.

And while I'm here I may as well inquire as to the status of the two 'ultimate' cuts that are being worked on... I hope they haven't been abandoned!

Yeah, Anchor Bay/Starz put out a few of their best selling titles to test the water: DAWN OF THE DEAD, DAY OF THE DEAD, EVIL DEAD 2 and HALLOWEEN.

That's interesting, I've read that they don't look too great. Well at least the 2 'dead' films.

Well, some people are extremely hard to please... they're welcome to stick with the DVD versions - if they found them to their liking, that is.

Finally got a copy of Disc 3 of this, and who do I see during the mall tour?

That's me behind Ken Foree! I'm not sure why I look so bored and am biting my fingernail, because he was telling a pretty funny story. Man, did I really look like that five years ago?

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

 (Edited)

I just sorted through about 100 discs I had randomly stashed on spindles and found this set - I'd completely forgotten about it! Great stuff, I'm looking forward to going through it all again.

Anyway, its been a few years now... anyone interested in doing DAY OF THE DEAD ultimate edition? The behind the scenes footage that's floating around is 3 discs alone... a 4th disc of supplemental stuff shouldn't be hard to come up with. I've got a few rare vintage tv news stories that I could contribute.

Anyone...?

Hello all. Just wondering if somebody could send me all 4 discs of this collection as I had a spindle of discs stolen from my car and it included about 50 dvds & blu-rays which I have replaced slowly over the last 3 months and then remembered that this set was in that spindle!!!! I was planning on having a Dawn of the Dead marathon watching the Extended Version and all the commentaries, documentaries and featurettes and while looking for my discs to my set I realized that The Ultimate Companion was in the spindle, and I cant do torrents,so can somebody please get a hold of me and send me a replacement for this 4-disc collection that I helped work on by finding materials, and I would be the very most thankful!

Hello, everybody. This is my first post on the forum, but I had been lurking for years. I created an account just to ask about this Dawn of the Dead set. Dawn of the Dead is one of my favorite movies, and it's easily the best zombie movie of all time.

I really enjoy listening to audio commentary tracks. I'd absolutely love to hear the audio commentary track from the Laserdisc edition of Dawn of the Dead, which is featured on this set.

If somebody were to point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I would like information on getting these, as well! Probably my favorite film of all time.
