As per the Superman III convo, I have to add to what Ripplin already pointed out.  Superman Redeemed is fantastic.  It's the first fan edit that really convinced me that movies could actually be made better.

Cube.

The dialogue was sketchy at times, and the characters motivations seemed a little off once or twice, but overall I recommended this forgotten 90s film that deserves more attention than it got.

8/10

Cube was great. The sequel was pretty much rubbish from what I recall.

The Power Rangers movie. I watched it on Netflix instant purely for nostalgia and was pleasantly surprised. It was consistently laughably awful. It is a must watch.

There are two sequels and I think they are pretty interesting.  They both reveal a little more about who is behind the cubes.

They probably aren't 'rush out to the threatre' good.  But they are 'tivo them' good.

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Rewrite the Prequels!

You're not old enough to experience nostalgia.

I agree with this.  Wasn't the third one a prequel?

Actually, now that I think about it, I believe it was a diet soda.

I'm willing to have another crack at them, but I remember one of the things I liked the most about Cube was that there was no explanation. It allowed you to identify more with the captives and also made it scarier.

Well, then you won't like Cube Zero, that's for sure.

It's more of a Sidequel as it's set before the first film in a slightly crap parallel universe.

SPOILER ALERT!

I think I would have liked Cube little more if the viewer found out who was behind it at the end.

The Kafkaesque elements of the first film was part of it's appeal.

It was built and to justify it being built it had to be used, you don't need to know who built it (it's one of the problems I have with Cube 0).

The second one is a hoot though.

I feel like I need to watch these Cubes. Never heard of them before now.

Meanwhile, I've been watching South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut in segments. Hasn't been holding my attention enough to keep me from getting distracted or decided I should go do something else. Half way through right now, maybe I'll finish in a week or two... after I take what I anticipate will be an amazing Cube-athon and System Shock 2 break.

I might be going to see Conan O'Brien's movie Conan O'Brien Can't Stop today. It's in very limited release currently.

Too bad films like this are never released in the least populated state in the U.S. :-(

Welp, that answers xhonzi's question in another thread about where you live.

Just got back from seeing Super 8, and I loved it. I thought the children in the film were amazing, considering the fact that kids generally ruin movies. I actually cared.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Goodnight, you princes of Sealab. You kings o' the ocean.

I'm sorely disappointed I don't see Captain Murphy-isms from you.

He didn't. He called me a "welp", not "whelp".

Big difference.
