Already torrented new Doctor Who. Will watching with my children...

I meant that the last new episode of Doctor Who for the next few months aired on June 4th. If you think you downloaded episode 8 of season 6, then you've downloaded a fake torrent (if it is a zip or rar or other type of archive, watch out for viruses). Episode 8 won't be out until probably sometime in September.

Maybe I misunderstood you though, it sounded like you expected a new episode to be out Sunday evening, but probably you are just a few episodes behind in the series and haven't made it to episode 7 yet.

Oh I downloaded A Christmas Carol and Episodes 1 through 7. Already played on BBC One and not relying on BBC America anymore. My son also likes very much the older Doctor Who too.

We're still watching Errol Flynn.

How can you not love WALL·E?!!

Ignore whatever stupid social commentary you are being fed and enjoy the sweetest tale of romance to ever grace cinema. A love story without those horrible, awkward word things. And don't tell me those of you who are collectors don't identify with WALL·E's obsessive-compulsive arrangement of all his favourite bits and pieces. I think one of the problems is the lack of dialogue leads some people to switch off and think about other things rather than involving themselves more in WALL·E's story.

I think these films are much more enjoyable if you are more forgiving going in. Don't expect a masterpiece that will cater to your adult tastes or sensibilities; watch them with the eyes of your eight year old self and you will rarely be disappointed. The only animated movie I didn't really enjoy was Shrek 3 (haven't seen 4). And I refuse to watch Open Season because even my eight year old self hates Martin Lawrence.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to see Rango. Since I happen to also be a HUGE Eastwood fan, I'd heard there was a great tribute to him in there that I am just itching to see. (PLEASE NO SPOILERS!)

There's tributes to EVERYTHING in that movie, from Eastwood to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, there's no way I could remember them all. :P

Oh wait, yeah, there's a REALLY big Eastwood tribute though. He's kind of....

God, for lack of a better word.

We hated 3, but got really bored one weekend and went to see 4. It is MUCH better, dare I say, the best Shrek movie.

Shrek 3 was indeed terrible.  1 and 2 were pretty good.  I've been looking forward to seeing 4.  Eventually.

Superman III

If you remember enjoying this movie as a kid and haven't seen it since, learn from my mistake and keep it that way. 3 half-cents out of 10.

Maybe an extra half-cent for the "fire rockets at Superman" video game that really fires rockets at Superman.

Ah, but I am one of those douchebags who use a Mac so I won't be able to open that .exe file. Though if you are lucky, receiving such a titillatingly named file in my email and being unable to open it might make me very sad and sexually frustrated at the same time.

I've been in the closet for a really long time about this, and I know admitting it isn't going to make me popular, keep my hair out of the toilet, or keep me from getting wedgies, or stop me from getting laughed at in the locker room, or cause the pretty girls to talk to me... But Superman III is my favorite Superman ever! The first one is really boring, the second one is pretty sweet (though filled with some terribly lame parts) but you see it once or twice and it wears thin. But part three? Oh yes, part three! Part three is a train wreck. But man! It is one of my all time favorite train wrecks!

You guys need to watch ADigitalMan's "Superman Redeemed", which combines the best of III and IV into one excellent watch!

I was just at FE.org today and saw that. Don't think I want to buy the originals though :(

And thanks for your comment CP3S, if you don't stick up for the bad movies you love, who will??

To me, a bad bad movie has nothing going for it, like "Robot Monster". Gorilla with diving helmet walks around and does nothing. Family walks around and does nothing. Nothing happens...

A good bad movie has lots going for it, even if it's laughably dumb, like "Plan 9 from Outer Space". The Solaranite scene alone puts it head and shoulders above just about every other bad movie! For all the laughs and fun it provides, I would never put it on a 'worst movies ever made' list like so many do.

Some of these types of movies cross over into just plain good movies. ;) I speak of the original versions, not the MST3K'd ones. Those should be viewed on their own merits, as many think that they can turn a bad bad into a good bad.

Threw out my back doing yardwork, so I've been working through some movies. Here they are in order of quality:

Paranormal Activity 2 - 3/10

Insidious - 6/10 (8/10 until the last 20 minutes)

The Adjustment Bureau - 7/10

The Borrower Arrietty - 8/10

Thundershowers knocked out my internet, so...

The Beach - 8/10

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

Lately I've been seeing lots of Alec Guinness movies

"The Ladykillers", 1955, ok this one I've seen it a bunch of times already, but for the first time in english. A classic, 6 out of 6 balls.

"The Lavender Hill Mob", 1951, what a film, thrills, laughter, great camera work, definitely recommended, 8 out of 8 balls.

"The Man In The White Suit", 1951, this one I liked, but there was something quite... I don't know I might've had something to do with the pacing, or maybe I need another viewing, but I'll give it 6 out of 7 balls.

"Great Expectations", 1946, now this one was way better than I expected, even if Guinness had no more than a few scenes in it, and now the South Park episode "Pip" is even funnier because I found out that in places it quotes the movie almost verbatim. 10 out of 10 balls.

Of these four movies, I really wanna see again "The Lavender Hill Mob".

Yeah, that movie was very promising. They ruined it by showing the monster.  Which looked like an emo Darth Maul.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Oh, the magic of fanediting.

In my opinion:

The junkyard scene is the finest segment in any Superman film.

It even has Blade Runner posters in the background.
