I make one mistake! Compared to 98% of the rest of the internet, I'm a damn genius when it comes to spelling.

Yes, but I knew you could handle the criticism. ;-)

Also The Iron Giant is one of the best animated movies ever made by anyone, ever.

I am SOOO glad you mentioned The Iron Giant, that is one of the best animated movies ever and it was REAL animation. I loved that one so much I recorded it in HD on my DVR and then locked it in. Need to show it my daughter (almost 3 years now) I'd bet she'll love it.

Here's my take on Pixar films:

Toy Story = I absolutely loved it. I was 16 when it came out and caught it later on home video, it was a great experience and memory. My daughter watches it incessantly, but I still like it. She calls this one "Andy's Room". 10/10

A Bug's Life = I'm not sure I even remember this movie, that's just how boring it was. I forgot it the moment I saw it. I actually liked it's rival better, Antz. 2/10

Toy Story 2 = By this point in my life, I was very nervous about the prospect of sequels to great movies, but I loved this one just as much as the first. This one is my daughters favorite because she loves Jessie. She calls this one "Woody Round-Up". 10/10

Monsters, Inc = I really enjoyed this one, I felt that John Goodman and Billy Crystal were superb in their parts and was even able to seemingly have "chemistry" in even animated form. I'd like to see those guys do a real movie together. Also, Jame Coburn was wonderful as well Steve Buscemi. I highly enjoyed the story line and the fun. 8/10

Finding Nemo = Was very very bored by this one. Fish floating around in water doesn't seem to much for me. 2/10

The Incredibles = Loved it! I loved the story, the idea of a family of supers, how the rejected kid ended up being the adult villain. 9/10

Cars = It was enjoyable, but not that engaging to me, I also hate Larry the Cable guy and his over the top idiotic hillbilly voice. 3/10

Ratatouille = I really enjoyed this one also, the story was engaging and the plot felt smooth and "natural". 9/10

WALL-E = I really enjoyed this movie as well, I liked the characters and the storyline. To me, this one had a heavy in your face political agenda, but then another underlying political aspect to it. The first being that corporations take over and we pretty much destroy our earth, the latter being that relying on "the machine" for everything in your life is not freedom and you have to break free from that and be self-reliant. By the end, it seemed more an ode against the nanny state and crony capitalism than an anti-consumerism/pro-environmentalism movie. Sorry to muck up the thread with political talk, but that's how I feel about this one. 8/10

UP = The beginning is the gem, then when they meet the talking dogs, I'm lose interest pretty quick that I turn the channel the moment they meet Charles Muntz. 3/10

Toy Story 3 = I loved this movie just as much as the prior Toy Stories. By this one, I was very concerned with the characters and their fate. The ending was very sweet and I felt extremely poignant. By this point, we had seen these characters develop over 15 years in many types of media. I was invested and felt very sad as well as happy when the credits rolled. My daughter calls this one "Sunnyside Daycare" and she dances like a raving mad fool when Spanish Buzz dances with Jessie at the end to the Spanish version of "You've Got a Friend In Me". Perhaps it is the Mexican in her that she inherited from my side of the family. 10/10

I love that movie, it always makes me cry. Especially the 'Superman' bit at the end.

Well, technically it was a combination of traditional and CG animation (the Giant was CG), but that was pretty commonplace by that point as every Disney movie including and after The Great Mouse Detective did that too. But anyway, yes, Iron Giant rules.

I honestly did not know that. Thanks! They pulled it off very well, fooled me. I didn't know there was other Iron Giant fans here. Good to know!

I loved Iron Giant, very beautiful. Steamboy is a japanese film that used the same technique, while the film sucked, I thought it was a very beautiful film.

The Great Mouse Detective was my favorite film as a kid. It was actually my introduction to Sherlock Holmes, though I didn't know it until I had watched Basil Rathbone, how heavily they borrowed from it. I gotta say, it was beautiful.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Dude, Doctor Who is in reruns and Twilight came out in 2008 not 1998, silly!

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

The Devil's Backbone.

A delicate film on the whole and as frequently noted, a perfect cousin to Cronos and Pan's Labyrinth.

In my view it was a little scuppered by the full on reveal of the main supernatural element too soon.

If it came a little later we could share Carlos' moment of terror more completely and then later come to the same conclusions he does, when he does.

The CGI has dated a lot and it would have been better presented with a degree of obscuration.

Minor quibbles about an almost perfect film.

Okay, alt+left arrow is an IE shortcut for "back".  Don't use this on accident or you'll lose your 4 page diatribe on Pixar and Disney.

The short-short version is: loved everything through Incredibles minus Bug's Life.  Couldn't stand Cars or RatatouilleWall-E was a complete waste to me.  Up was a mixed bag.  Like some of the rest of you, I was onboard until the talking dogs showed up.

Toy Story 3 was either going to bring me back to enjoying Pixar or suffer guilt through association.  I'm sorry to say it didn't win me back, but it was their most enjoyable outing in recent years to me.

And apparently I need to watch The Iron Giant again.  I remember watching it... and that's about it.

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

Allright guess I have to chime in on Pixar too...most of my responses to these films are "meh" or "forgettable".

Toy Story 2 = 5/10

Monsters, Inc = 3/10

Finding Nemo = 3/10

The Incredibles = 5/10

Cars = 3/10

Ratatouille = 4/10

WALL-E = 4/10

UP = This is the only Pixar film I can actually enjoy in any real way. Go figure. 9/10

I meant that the last new episode of Doctor Who for the next few months aired on June 4th. If you think you downloaded episode 8 of season 6, then you've downloaded a fake torrent (if it is a zip or rar or other type of archive, watch out for viruses). Episode 8 won't be out until probably sometime in September.

Maybe I misunderstood you though, it sounded like you expected a new episode to be out Sunday evening, but probably you are just a few episodes behind in the series and haven't made it to episode 7 yet.
