Harmy,
I've taken plenty of time to view this before giving feedback. Of course, everyone has told you how great it is and I whole-heartedly agree.
The first viewing I was so caught up the technical details, trying to see how well the shots blended and paying close attention to the colors. I think the shots you recomposited are fantastic; the upscaled GOUT fits well; I especially like the entire Mos Eisley sequence (no more stupid rontos and dewbacks blocking the screen); the original shots of the X wings in front of the gas planet; and all the original Yavin shots. It was great not having to look at all that ugly cgi. It just doesn't belong there.
All those re-colored flashes and lasers make a huge difference. The sickly feelings of watching the 2004 version are all gone; that version is like looking through a dark tinted car window with pink (and blue) goggles. It is so refreshing to look at what you've done.
I know you couldn't fix the duel lightsabers, which is a bummer, but they do look better. I miss that retro animated look of the original, but I guess there's always GOUT sourced projects If I want to see it.
The second viewing I was able to just sit back and relax and watch the film, and it was a happy experience indeed. The Death Star battle really shines here; the 2004 version seems dull compared to this. It has been a while since the film was so much fun. It's similar to when I first saw Ady's Revisited, only better!
Anyway, thanks for taking all the time and effort to do this, you've made us all very happy; and thanks to Adywan and hairy hen and everyone else! :)
