It is more truthful to point out that the o-neg has been conformed to the special edition in 1997, not that it is destroyed.

So far he has given every excuse under the sun for not restoring and releasing the originals. Its too expensive, the negative was no longer in existence and permanently altered, it did not fit his original vision, its an oxmoron to include them on the blu ray.
