I don't mind that so much, because it's supposed to be bad CGI. It's not trying to represent anything real. That's like saying Tron or The Lawnmower Man had bad CGI.

I didn't think it was meant to be bad.

Robocop 2 (the cyborg) was meant to be cutting edge technology, a more advanced version of the the first Robocop so having a giant plasma screen pop out of it's head for no good reason and do the growling Max Headroom thing really buggered up my enjoyment of a good film when it first came out and it looks much worse now.

Lawnmower Man was meant to be a representation of VR then (or at least very close to then) so it was pretty accurate even if the film was a pile of poo.

Tron's CGI isn't meant to be CGI (in the story) at all.

It's a visual representation of the interactions of programs and data in cyberspace that was rendered largely on a computer and it looks timeless.
