Hehehe, I want Half-Life 3 so bad... I might actually be willing to reach into your pants to get it... but I'd have to be really sure it was in there first....

Oh, and the troll comment was meant in the most loving way possible. I was actually surprised to look back at it and see I didn't put I winky after it, I thought I had.

Maybe they're holding off on HL3 until they have a new engine? I mean, Source is awesome, but it's been around for a while now.

Agreed. But get on with it! We need some HF3.

I think E3 is beneath Valve (or that Valve thinks so).  They'll start having Valvcon or Streamathon where they can announce their new stuff.  Maybe it can just be called HalfLife3ocon and they'll announce just that one game, but they'll announce it perennially.  Just like Diablo III.

Anybody else ever play an old mid nineties game called The Neverhood Chronicles? From a game mechanics standpoint, it is absolutely awful, the puzzles aren't exactly hard, but sometimes they are unreasonable in the large amount of memorization and mass back tracking it makes you do. Though if it didn't make you jump through these annoying hoops, the game would be rather short.

Despite all of this, the game is very pretty... in a quirky claymation kind of way. The entire set is made out of clay and it uses full motion video as you walk around the tiny clay world. I can't recall how many times I've started this game throughout my childhood, got frustrated with it or stuck and gave up only to get in the mood to start it again a months or years later.

The last time I played this game I was probably 12 or 14 and still hadn't beaten it. Last week I started thinking about it again and decided to see if there was a Mac port of it available in the seedy underdepths of the interwebs (my old original CD-ROM is probably rotting away in a box in my parents garage), and sure enough, I found one that works brilliantly on OS X. And now, finally after all these years, I beat it today!

The game is a very pleasant and unique experience. I'd recommend it to any adventure game fans and/or clay animation fans.

4 out of 4 balls.

Maybe someday I can get my hands on its hard to find sequel for the PSOne, Skullmonkeys.

Just installed Outcast for the first time in 6-7 years. No problems under Win7 64 bit and simple cfg hack for widescreen. It was a pleasant surprise. Looks pretty damn good after all these years.

I've had the Silent Hill Collection set for years but I've only had the PS2 to play it on for a few months.

I've been playing Silent Hill 2 for a couple of hours and it's already much more colourful and cheery than the first one.

for the past two days I've been playing Duke Nukem Forever on and off - on and off because it just can't hold my attention.

After all this time I expected the game to be average but I only wanted 2 things - action and humour. It stumbles on both.

The references in DN3d were cool because they were kinda obscure. here Duke makes reference to everything from Aliens to Starship Troopers.

the action in the game is in quite small doses as feels extremely scripted, it's pretty much -

walk into an empty area, solve some mundane puzzle, fight off a few waves of monsters that suddenly appear...continue through the empty area....

I'd be very surprised if any single element they planned in 1997 exists in the game today - it really feels like they shoe-horned in anything they saw in other games - two weapon limit? check. physics puzzles? check....

the level I just played through feels too much like the flood / gravemind levels i the halo games. complete with egg sacks and sphincter type doors.

it's the sort of game you couldn't make in 1997 due to technology and shouldn't make in 2011 because it's all been done in better games.

I didn't know it actually came out. You'd think angels would have heralded it's coming, as long as we've been waiting for it. Or not caring, as the case may be for me. Sounds about like what I would have expected: crap.

Anyone else looking for to ICO and Shadow of the Colusses HD remakes? Never played ICO but SotC was an awesome game.

HaloA sounds great, hopefully its no more than 29.99 when it comes out. Playing the campaign online coop is great. Remember playing it for hours on end with a friend in college, really fun.

Anyone play Borderlands?

well, we were meant to get it before you guys anyway - no idea why. Here it broke street date by a day as well - probably to make money before all the negative american reviews?

and as far as waiting all this time - it would be equally disappointing for a game in development for 2 years.

the thing is that duke 3d kind of had a style to it and they've ditched that to just rip-off other games - while mocking those games at the same time [ie: the halo series]

it's kinda sad that Halo is getting a TEN YEAR anniversay re-release - that is the same game and that's more exciting.

Is anyone else playing this? - i know i'm not the only sucker who bought this.

I've had no interest at all in Duke Nukem Forever beyond the amused Wow, it is finally coming out. I have to agree with you, I seriously doubt any of what was once meant to be Duke Nukem Forever remains in this title. Feels kind of like a cash in on what became a game that was infamous for never being finished. It's kind of like someone building a city over the ocean and naming it "The City of Atlantis" and saying, "Hey, look everybody! We finally found it!"

Even though I own Ico and SOTC on the PS2, I am looking forward to the HD remake. Though I do cringe thinking about dealing with those horrible controls on the otherwise near perfect SOTC. But imagining climbing colossi on a big screen TV in HD makes me very, very happy.

I agree, I really hope Halo Anniversary is a lower priced game, even being only downloadable and in the $20 range would be really nice. I am afraid they'll pull an ODST and add a bunch of fancy multiplayer features and consider it worthy of full $60 price tag.

And yes, I do play Borderlands on the 360. Love it. I've got all the expansions and (sadly) completed everything, even got the unreasonable Mad Moxxi achievements. I'd love more DLC or a sequel, after all those hours I still didn't get my fill of that game.

Xhonzi was playing it too a while ago.

I am laughing my ass off at people who though Halo 3 was the conclusion to the series, here comes Halo 4 and the start of a second trilogy.

Now all those people that claimed i was off my rocker for saying they would milk the franchise owe me an apology, lol.

Not anyone on the boards but people who worship Halo like its a frickin religion.

Gotta love E3, even the star trek game is a huge ripoff of mass effect.

Only my opinion.

Looking forward to mass effect 3 and finishing the series, but the whole Kinect thing is laughable.

As soon as MS said that they kept the rights to Halo I assumed that we'd start getting yearly entries like CoD. Bungie made Halo, I'm not planning on caring for the rest of the Halos.

re: Halo Anniversary - they have mentioned it being a less than full price game, but they did plan the same for ODST initially so Fingers crossed.

Apparently there's some event in August where they'll reveal more on Halo 4 and let people get their hands on halo anniversary.

It's been a certainty for a while now that there'd be more halo games and why not? - they make money. 343 Industries was set up specifically to handle HALO releases.

Halo 3 was also open ended with somewhat of a cliffhanger.

I honestly don't know where I am in that. I really enjoyed Halo, H2, H3, and ODST, but felt like I had played an awful lot of Halo by the time Reach was being made. I was never really excited for Reach, not only because I was afraid it would be more of the same, but the whole prequel storyline didn't seem the least bit interesting to me.

I ended up buying Reach after reading some good reviews and finding it at a discount price shortly after its release. And I ended up not caring too much for it. Yet, while none of the Reach trailers sparked the least bit of interest in me, that Halo 4 teaser has me kind of looking forward to Halo 4. Maybe if different people are making it, it will actually turn out different. Halo's biggest problem was that it was a really, really good game, but it never did much growing and maturing; instead it just kind of remained the exact same game with very minor tweaks each installment. An actual evolving Halo franchise would be great, it is almost shocking to consider how little things have changed between Halo:CE and Halo: Reach. Board games have typically evolved faster than the Halo franchise.

Love the Soundtrack to Shadow of the Colossus especially the opened way.

I have heard an orchestrated version of it by Eminence, awesome stuff.  The song is quite repetitive though.  The real OST is long out of print and costs too much.

I do play Borderlands.  But I'm at the mercy of the people I play it with.  My wife doesn't really want to play more than the 3 or so hours we already put into it.  My Bro-in-laws-Bro that I played 6 or so hours with moved away.  My zombie friend (zombriend?) and I play it when we can't get 2 other people to join us for L4D, which we've been able to do recently.  I'd be happy to play 4 player BLs, but the other two people don't have level 15 characters, so that would be awkward.

I've really wanted to play BLs some more... zombriend and I will have to set up a private date for some 1-on-1 splitscreening.

RE:Halo 4

Like C3PX, I have to say I'm more interested in Halo 4 then I ever was for Reach.  I ended up getting Reach for Christmas last year, which was probably 6 months earlier than I was planning to get it.  I get very few games the week they're released, but Halo is a frequent exception.  Reach was an exception to my Halo exception.

It will be interesting to see what 343 does with it and how it compares to the Bungie releases.  I have to say I'm not sure if Bungie will fare better without Halo than Halo will without Bungie.

Anyone who beat Halo 3 on legendary or read Ghosts of Onyx has been waiting for an official Halo 4 announcement for a while.  So I don't think it's a terribly big surprise.  I do hope, however, that the story of the Flood and the Covenant is over.  Halo 3 was advertised as your chance to "Finish the Fight".  I'd like to see a new direction for Halo 4.  Inasmuch as they've advertised it as a "new trilogy" I imagine they have a new direction for it.  Hopefully it's a good one.

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!
