Types of apples I've eaten:

MacIntosh
Empire
Red Delicious
Golden Delicious
Granny Smith
Honeycrisp
Mutsu
Royal Gala
Jazz
Fuji
Russet
Ambrosia
Snow
Braeburn
Crispin
Cortland
Pink Lady
Ginger Gold
Honeygold
Idared
Jonagold
Lobo
Spartan
Northern Spy
Paula Red
Red Prince
Cameo

There are more, but I can't remember them. Sometimes small/lesser known varieties pass through town like ships in the night.

Favorite? Hmm... Honeycrisps blew me away the first time I had them, then they were very hit-and-miss afterwards. A few years later, I still haven't had another truly great one. Fujis are amazingly unique and delicious, but the taste can grow tiresome more quickly than others, I admit. Russets are also very unique and good, though they can be pretty dry. Red Delicious is a great all-rounder. Empires are usually excellent. Braeburns are WAY up there amongst my favorites and I'm sad they're only available a short time. I had one Snow apple and was VERY impressed. Looking forward to getting some this fall. (I hope!)

Having said that, I'll just go with Pink Lady, I think. I love the tough texture and they're nice and sweet. Never had a bad one.

Worst? Golden Delicious. Even at their crispiest, they're pretty soft, which is very unappealing to me. The taste is nothing to write home about either.
