It's not like they have panels praising the ronto butt shots or ROTJ Hayden. =P They love Luke, Han and Leia just as much as the next person. Is there prequel love going on at these things? Yeah, but that's just another part of the fandom now and easily ignored.

The last Celebration was Empire Strikes Back themed and they had Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Jeremy Bulloch, Robert Watts and Gary Kurtz all there. Not to mention a slew of actors that played bit parts in the films like Wes Janson and Dak, Ackbar, Veers etc. They're the really fun ones to talk to because they're easily accessible and honest with their opinions.

I am by no means a fan of the SE but I also don't let it ruin my enjoyment of the OT. Especially not when I'm a part of an excellent community like this one that helps people enjoy the films like they were. Star Wars is still fun, you just have to let yourself enjoy it again.

I will always remember the last celebration as the unveiling of the blu ray and Lucas bullshit nonsense about including the original being an oxymoron.

Okay the deleted Jedi footage of Luke Building his lightsaber being introduced by Mark Hamill  was cool.

But just brings up how ridiculous having deleted scenes are when the movies won't even be on the blu ray, the 2004 is not, emphatically not the original star wars trilogy. Special Edition 2.0 is what it is, anything else is false advertising.

What is a real crime in my opinion against art is that the originals have not been seen the way they were intended for 25- 30 years.

The originals should be seen in cinemas and in a restored print.

the 1997 which began as a restoration was in fact the opposite, it was a way to bury and destroy the movies.
