I see nothing about the current state of Star Wars to celebrate.

C'mon man, The Force Unleashed 2 was the height of awesomeness!

If it was in Indianapolis, I'd have my tickets already, if only to encourage some of you to come hang out with me.

It's the best I could do. Lame, I know.

Yeah, they don't even know what they're gonna do yet. They're asking the fans to give them ideas.

Screening of the OOT, anyone?

I'd be there in a second.

Yet again us fans outside of the USA get forgotten. 4 of the 6 movies were made here in the UK, yet we only get 1 event. But i agree with Warbler, there is nothing to celebrate with the current sate of the franchise.

Again, I am forced to point out the pure awesomeness of TFU 2. Greatest game ever I tell 'ya!!

No it wasn't. It was pretty lame compared to the original and just too short. Even the 2 different endings couldn't save that game.

Yeah, I'm having a hard time telling if this guy is serious.

How could I not be serious? The main character, is like, a clone! A clone of the guy who you control in the first game! Clones are awesome, which is why Attack of the Clones was awesome! Well, that and the hilarious C-3P0 scenes in the Droid Assembly Factory. In fact, I think I'm going to go watch those scenes right now!

There's your answer Bloodnose.  Well, that as well as this:

The prequels just suck, although TPM was at least an attempt to make a film with an original vision. I think. It still sucked.

I certainly need a sock when thinking of Aayla Secura. Another fine contribution to Star Wars lore from the EU.

Definite sock.  The question now is...who?

I suspect Ric Olie.

I attended the last two and they're a lot of fun. Is there much to celebrate going on these days? No not really, but so what? It's about celebrating the films, not current events. It's just great being able to congregate with all your fellow fans in person and getting to meet a bunch of the cast from the films. Plus if you're a collector, it's definitely the place to be! The only caveat I'd put in place is be cautious when discussing the OOT, there are a lot of people there that are ignorant of the issue.

I suppose that's the reason I doubt I'd have a good time there.  They wouldn't be celebrating the films I actually care about.  And if I had to tiptoe around actually talking about the films I do care about, then what's the fun in that?  Not trying to discourage your good time.  I mean, that's certainly great.  But it just makes me think that I personally wouldn't enjoy myself all too much.  And like the others have said, there doesn't really seem to be much to celebrate right now.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Is there a good spot to aim a video projector out a hotel window onto the side of a building? A guerilla screening of Puggo Grande is what's needed! ;)

It's not like they have panels praising the ronto butt shots or ROTJ Hayden. =P They love Luke, Han and Leia just as much as the next person. Is there prequel love going on at these things? Yeah, but that's just another part of the fandom now and easily ignored.

The last Celebration was Empire Strikes Back themed and they had Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Jeremy Bulloch, Robert Watts and Gary Kurtz all there. Not to mention a slew of actors that played bit parts in the films like Wes Janson and Dak, Ackbar, Veers etc. They're the really fun ones to talk to because they're easily accessible and honest with their opinions.

I am by no means a fan of the SE but I also don't let it ruin my enjoyment of the OT. Especially not when I'm a part of an excellent community like this one that helps people enjoy the films like they were. Star Wars is still fun, you just have to let yourself enjoy it again.

about the only reason I'd go is if Lucas was going to be showing up and I had the chance to boo him and chant "Han Shoots First!" in his face.

I will always remember the last celebration as the unveiling of the blu ray and Lucas bullshit nonsense about including the original being an oxymoron.

Okay the deleted Jedi footage of Luke Building his lightsaber being introduced by Mark Hamill  was cool.

But just brings up how ridiculous having deleted scenes are when the movies won't even be on the blu ray, the 2004 is not, emphatically not the original star wars trilogy. Special Edition 2.0 is what it is, anything else is false advertising.

What is a real crime in my opinion against art is that the originals have not been seen the way they were intended for 25- 30 years.

The originals should be seen in cinemas and in a restored print.

the 1997 which began as a restoration was in fact the opposite, it was a way to bury and destroy the movies.

I feel like the majority of fans want Han to shoot first. Am I wrong? I mean I see "Han shot first" shirts all over the place. Am I wrong on this? Someone tell me I'm right or I'll cry. ;(
