'Serenity'.Great stuff. I don't know how that movie came and went without my knowing it. Apparently, a television series did, as well. I liked the way they reduced it to a bunch of characters just trying to survive. Whedon(?) is a darn good screenwriter. Everything seemed to be consistent with what I would expect from such characters in such circumstances. It did show it's TV origin. I'm going to check into 'Firefly' now.

Cool World. I couldn't make it all the way through - what an inconsistent tone! The character animation was pretty poor too. However, the backgrounds were fantastic. Two out of four balls from what I saw.

'Whiskey Galore'

Hilarious

4 out of 5 balls. It could've been 5, if it weren't for the sad, cop-out ending in the end

Who Is Harry Nilsson (And Why Is Everybody Talkin' About Him?) (2011)

A great documentary on the man and his music.

The Abyss.

Dont care for the extra half hour in the "Special Edition." Fells bloated, and the whole 'end of the world' scenario feels forced.

Then again few films stand up to 6 viewings in 2 days. I give it 28/38 balls.

Just Go With It, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston STILL look GREAT!

I don't see how you can mention those two and not give the movie a ball rating.

"The Cove"

It's a cute documentary about dolphins (being brutally murdered).

"Easy A"

Isn't normally the kind of movie I watch, but I wasn't the one who chose it either. I swear it was in the comedy section on netflix, yet it had far less humor in it than most serious dramas I've seen lately. Maybe it needed a laugh track so I'd know when to laugh. I've always thought laugh tracks were dumb, but while watching this humorless comedy, suddenly the idea of some canned laughter sounded like a really great idea.

Tempted to give it -10,999 balls out of four balls, but since it used a piece of classic literature as a major part of its plot (I am a sucker for that sort of thing) I'll go ahead and be merciful to it and give it a nice even 0 out of 4 balls.

I liked Easy A quite a bit. Much better than your typical teen comedy. And funny too.

I think I gave it 3.74 out of 4.42 balls.

Probably the worst way to be introduced to Bakshi, except for Lord of the Rings.  Either one will sour the experience.  Then you will not bother to see his other quirky films.

E.T. (1982)

I had fond memories of watching E.T. as a child. Then I watched it again. 4/10

I haven't actually seen this yet, but this seemed like the best thread to post it in.  I just found out about this project called 2001: A Spiritualized Odyssey.  It takes 2001 and replaces all the music with songs from the 'space rock' band Spiritualized.  It was done by a group called The Almighty Sound

I watched a little bit of it and it seems pretty cool so far.  Spiritualized is awesome, so it can't be too bad.  If you want to check it out here are a few links:

Twilight (with the rifftrax err... track)

Fun fact! Whereas most movies these days are coloured 'Orange and Teal', Twilight has the unique displeasure of being coloured 'Teal and Teal'
