That Star Wars in concert pic is not valid comparison. During that show they use brightly colored lights, lasers, and other lighting effects that hugely effect how it appears on screen. It's less about a faithful presentation of the movie and more of a light and orchestra show.
That's not the case with the Technicolor screening, it was purely about faithful presentation. The flesh tones in those pics are completely natural, it's not as if faces appeared intensely red and orange on the screen and the camera magically made the fleshtones appear natural. That's how the film was intended to look, color timing wise.
