There is a tenancy with the 97 DVB rips for the colour to be pink/ red shifted. The smearing is caused by the crappy capture software available at the time. The TV PC cards really couldn't handle and movement and this is why the smearing occurred.

As for your latest screenshots, the 2004 3P0 shot looks better than the '97 apart from the fact that they dialled the yellow hue to more of a green (which is common in the 2004 versions), but for the vader shot, , the '97 is closer to the original colour.the 2004 has a strange greenish/ cyan tint to it, which was never there originally.

An interesting fact about the Tantive Iv corridors that i received pretty recently from someone who worked on ANH. The corridors are white, with the insets being a very pale/ sky blue and the panels boxes being white. They forgot to add the pale blue colouring to the insets when recreating the hallway for ROTS. So, in fact, the 2004 colouring of some of the hallway shots where we see the pale blue colouring of the insets is the true colour.
