My page per day ratio is way down since getting into prequel territory (and work has been pretty busy) but here's a good bit:

On page 191: John Knoll said:

George once explained to me that throughout the six films, a red-to-gray progression occurs within the succession of Palpatine abodes.  The first time we see his office, in Episode I, it's totally red.  In Episode II, Palpatine's office has more grey in it: a grey desk, a grey floor.  In Episode III, the office has even less red.  Gradually the color is going away so that, eventually, the only color left will be embodied in the Red Guards.  If you look at the Emperor's throne room in Episode VI, it is an all grey-and-black environment.

I'll confess.  I think that's actually kind of cool.  Too bad George was focused on this stuff instead of actually making the movies enjoyable.
